  • BU RPI rises to 104

    Bradley's RPI is 104 after tonight's games-

They are tied for 5th place with Drake, but with 2 wins over Drake, Bradley will win the tiebreaker.

There are 4 games tomorrow night. Creighton is at home against Evansville, and will likely win and hold on to 3rd place.
Illinois State plays at Indiana State. If they lose, they will fall into a 4th place tie with Bradley and Drake.
Wichita State plays at Northern Iowa, and that should be a great game. If WSU loses, they will drop to 8-4, but will remain in 2nd place.
Bradley still has a good chance at the #3 spot, and #2 is not out of the question if they can keep winning.

    That made me chuckle DC.

Palm usually doesn't update his site til the next morning, but so as of today going into tonight's game vs The Drake, Bradley was 107.

And after a road win at Evansville this Saturday, we should actually drop a couple spots. Now if we lose at Evansville... we'll drop a lot!

We'll go backwards just by playing them, they couldn't beat Richwoods!

I've started to work out scenarios for BU to avoid Thursday(depressing), but in multiple team tiebreaker scenarios(which there may be as many as 4 teams tied at 9-9 when this is all said and done), BU is in good shape as it has at least split and swept one of the other play-in contenders. The only wrench in this plan is ISU Red. There is still a chance they could join the cesspool at 9-9, so we need to make sure we win Tuesday to really solidify our chances of moving out of Thursday discussion. IMO, we don't want to face Osiris in a 4-5 game in St. Louis. they would be our worst possible fate with Drake being our best draw. Yes, I know they can make 3's but they lack an interior weapon as we do, so the matchups are much better. I'd always rather take my chances with a chucking team than one who murders us inside and on the glass as ISU surely will. I'd also like to be able to enjoy a full day of basketball before our possible exit so give me the 3-6 death match at 8:35 Friday!

I cannot believe FOX sports will NOT be showing the Shockers vs. Panthers matchup. **** Hockey

Evansville could qualify as a classic 'trap' game for BU. All signs point to it:

BU has played down to opponents before
BU not much to gain, but a lot to lose
              Road game w/road officiating
BU coming off of last second home win
BU may be looking ahead to rematch vs Illinois State following Evansville

Hopefully BU will not over estimate their abilities and underestimate Evansville's

I think BU shows up against the Aces and wins by 10, then comes home and plays with a little swagger against the 'Birds, setting up one last chance at home redemption and 3rd place next Saturday against UNI. Who's with me?

They'd better come ready to play as realistically this is Evansville's final chance at avoiding 0-18. BU will be favored by 3 or less when the Vegas lines come out Friday.
