  • Illinois State gets Morehead State in BracketBuster

they have the best rebounder in the nation in Kenneth Faried..

also Indiana State at UWGB, UIC at Evansville, Drake at UC-Northridge, Creighton hosts Loyola

someone wake up an ISU fan, their board doesn't know this yet..
the rest of the games (including UNI, Wichita, MSU) are not yet announced, as they appear to be getting TV games...

2nd place OVC team - not a bad draw, but glad ISU gets 'em and not us.

I'm just giddy they now have to absorb the OVC in their RPI and SoS now. That's just going to make it worse

LOL! I feel the same way. The #2 team in a Conference (OVC) vs the #6 team in a Conference (Colonial) gives one the perception they got a better draw. I think Drexel is a better draw.

However - looking at Jerry Palm's "SOS Impact", Morehead ranks 100 and Drexel is 144. Palm says this about the "SOS Impact":
This is a ranking of the positive impact each team has on its opponents' strength of schedule. Note that having a positive impact on strength of schedule is not necessarily the same as having a positive impact on RPI. RPI is also dependent on whether you beat that opponent and where you play them. The formula for this is 2/3 a team's winning percetange and 1/3 its opponents' winning percentage.

hard to imagine there were plenty of doubters that Kenneth Faried would ever be a decent pro player...but he's really fun to watch...
anyone who ever watched the kid when he was at Morehead State would have seen the near-limitless energy, quickness, athleticism, and talent..
...and yet he sat until the 22nd pick and went to Denver behind such players as Alec Burks (6ppg), Nolan Smith (2ppg, 1 apg), and Donatas Motiejunas (declined to play in NBA and stayed in Europe).

Faried has one of the best games by a Nuggets player this season in the NBA last night...
He led the Nuggets to a 123-84 whitewash of the Warriors with 27 points and 17 rebounds in only 24 minutes - resting plenty when the game was out of reach!
