Drake picks up a recruit

6'8", 235 pound power forward Wendell Faines of Lincoln (NE) Northeast high school committed to Drake and Tom Davis today. Rivals rates him as a 3-star recruit, and he has had interest from Illinois, Wichita State, SIU, Nebraska, and St. Louis. He averaged about 14 ppg and 9 rpg as a junior.

Drake has gotten another verbal committment for the class of 2007. Coach Tom Davis has landed a Chicago area recruit, Josh Parker, a 6' point guard.

Coach Tom Davis is on a roll-- Drake just got another verbal Friday from yet another small, quick, guard who sounds like a similar player to Josh Parker.
Ryan Daniels is a 6' combo guard who is now a freshman at Butler County Community College. He played his high school basketball at La Cueva high school in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He will spend 1 year at Butler County, then have 3 years of eligibility at Drake.
It appears he was not highly recruited out of high school or at Butler.
