Originally posted by DUBrave5 View PostObviously it hasn't been announced officially yet, but from what I've been told, the game at home against isu will be a Black Out with the team still wearing their white uniforms since we obviously don't have a black 3rd uni. Baby steps I guess

Is it possible we could get an alternate black jersey someday?? I always thought a black jersey with red letters and some red and white trim would be cool. But I remember someone a few years ago saying they tried the idea but it got shot down because it wasn't one of our primary colors or something? Course I'd like to have a jersey of any color for us fans to wear.

PEORIA, Ill. - The second half of the annual Interstate 74 Rivalry series between the Bradley and Illinois State men's basketball teams will feature a "Blackout," but the Comcast television viewing audiences in Central Illinois and Chicago still will be able to tune in. Bradley will be sponsoring its first-ever "Blackout" t-shirt promotion for Tuesday's 7:05 p.m. at Carver Arena.
Fans attending Tuesday's game are encouraged to wear black, but the Bradley Athletic Department will enhance the effect by distributing black Bradley Basketball t-shirts throughout Carver Arena. As of Thursday afternoon, only a handful of Priority IV upper bowl ($9) tickets remained for the rivalry game. The limited number of tickets remaining for Tuesday's game may be purchased at the Shea Stadium Box Office, the Carver Arena Box Office, any TicketMaster outlet or online at Bradley's official athletic department website, www.BradleyBraves.com.
Tuesday's "Blackout" will be the second of Bradley's three t-shirt giveaways this season, which began with the program's third all-time "Whiteout" Jan. 27 for the Creighton game. Bradley will sponsor a "Redout" for the regular-season home finale Feb. 24 versus Wichita State.
Prior to Tuesday's home game versus the Redbirds, Bradley (11-11, 6-6 MVC) will visit Evansville (6-16, 0-12 MVC) in a 4 o'clock game Saturday afternoon. The road tilt versus the Purple Aces will be televised regionally through the MVC-TV Network: Fox Sports Midwest, Comcast SportsNet Chicago, Fox Sports Indiana, Fox Sports Kansas City and Metro Sports.

MY sugestion is to relax and have some fun......I think the blackout is a GREAT idea. The coaches often wear black as part of their travel ensemble when they are on the road. Plus my other half bought me a cool black long sleeve BU shirt years ago I never get to wear at the games.
I recall South Padre was "men in black"....and I've seen it elsewhere.
They do these things to show team unity....and the FANS (us) are part of that team.
Have some fun, where black and see what the arena looks like. Besides...I have seen some of your popcorn eating Beer drinkin, nacho sloppin fat buttes in the stands. For ONE night you can actually look thinner and have the ole lady actually CLEAN your stain soaked Red sweatshirt for the first time this year.
THAT and it will make those lame arse ISU fans that make the trip over REALLY stick out like the LOSERS they are.
The ONLY problem is compliance. 40% of the 7000 fans will NOT go along with it. Wait...this is ISU....its geting to be OUR annual sellout......
Chico...I understand its TOO hot in Arizona for black but maybe you can dump those tighty whitey's for a night and don that black speedo you wear around the pool.

I find it to be a great idea as we're playing another Red clad team...
It wouldn't make any sense if the game were vs Wichita State, but with ISU it makes a whole lot of sense...
So lets pack the place, wear our black, and kick their *ss!
