  • What if JP was here?

Does anyone else think that the team would have been better off with JP not taking a redshirt?

Odiakosa and Lewis combined for 25 boards - the Braves had 28 total.

Kenny Lawson had 16 in the CU game.

Even during the win streak, we couldn't stop much inside. Against SIU, we gave up 14 and 11 to Anthony Booker.
Don't putt until the cup stops movin'

J.P. was suppose to step right in and contribute from what I was told, yes one extra year at the end will be better for him but are we sacrificing too much this season by doing this?
            A.Thompson seems to be a bust .
Milos is a 6-8 outside shooter that does not appear to want to bang inside and not a good defender .
S.Singh is the same player we saw 2 years ago, mosly a role player that struggles to score and has a hard time playing many minutes.
The reason I am pointing this out is with Milos really not playing much and not really being any help inside I just feel like Prosser could have given us a better presence inside as he was a good rebounder and scorer in high school.
Milos should have been the one that redshirted because we have enough outside players in my opinion.
The big question that I would like to know is how well is J.P. doing in practice playing against Will or Sam ?

I've asked that question many times and no one seems to want to answer with any specificity.

I know practice is closed but there are a few people that get to see them and I usually here reports but for whatever reason nothing has been said about this matter.

I have heard reports from practice that JP is improving and getting stronger, but that he was not strong enough to have been a major difference this season. This is generally true of lower division high school kids.

DC, I was talking to a friend about this the other day and I mentioned what you posted as a possibility. and...to be brutally honest, with the season we are having, I am glad that JP has 4 years of eligibility remaining.
                    Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

agree, and with jake eastman coming off a red-shirt i would like to see him get more playing time.he could use experience and wee dont need to play anyone 35 minutes a game.

I really like Jake. He has a ways to go but really seems to have great basketball instincts. The fact that someone his size can get so many rebounds shows me he has a head for the ball. If this season gets out of hand in the next few games I'd really like to see him log some extra minutes the rest of the way. Milos, on the other hand, is such a great shooter but his defense is absolutely atrocious!

I think JP would be exposed as someone who probably should have redshirted if he were playing.
