  • Why does it take.....

so long for Les to adjust in-game? Did Odiakosa really have to manhandle us for 17 points before we decided to zone? The man truly doesn't know when to do anything....call timeouts, play man, play zone, etc. Each game he is consistently late to make changes. just sub par all around.

It didn't matter when you can't make a shot you just don't win.

The defense was not the problem....we did hold them to 66...so we did play D well enough to win. But we couldn't hit a basket when we needed to...which was the last 24 mins of the game! This team is looking more and more like a MO team!
Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.

I wish they would bench Roberts and Warren.

Who is going to step in and replace them as our bench players cannot score. DSE got a lot of deserved minutes but we have no answer against the good centers of the league.

They can't score or rebound either. They put out very little effort.

              SM
              DSE
              JE
              WE
              AT

Why not try it out at this point? I 'd love to see what they can all do. Based on effort lately SM, DSE, JE, and WE deserve to start and AT put some effort in in his couple minutes tonight, we need to see if we will ever get anything out of him, plus WE can play the 4 then.

I thought the defense was decent yes, but rebounding is a part of that and that was horrible! Also as far as adjustments, no one on our team was going to stop Odiakosa anyway, so nothing could have been done without giving up a bunch of open 3s, which wasn't a good thing either.

We got pushed around and they did whatever they wanted down low. We have got to find a big for the 5, move WE to the 4 and go from there. This playing small is killing us and we will never move up the MVC if we dont change this. I would hope that we go after a juco big for next year and get back to a real line up that doesnt have everyone playing out of position from a size stand point..................................

The problem with that lineup is that we would likely score 20 points. With Jake and AT on the floor, defenses would not need to pay any attention to them...so Sam and DSE would find it impossible to find any space...
And there are very few Valley starters that Jake or Sticks could defend...

This is what I have been saying all along! The better teams have a serviceable, real 5 where they can exploit us. If we had a 5 that could play man on man D, bang guys around and board we'd be 2-3 games better in league play alone, IMO. WE is not a 5, never was and never will be. Imagine him as a 4 and TB as a 3. Playing up against guys bigger and stronger then you night in and night out wears you down. I'm all for a JUCO bigman coming in.

well since this season is slowing becoming toast we might want to consider giving jake and milos some experience.

Well now I think we are going a little over the top.....

Bad game. Season not working out the way we hoped. Still have some games left, so let's win em all. Go Braves. Is JL on the hot seat? Probably not yet, but he is much closer to it than he was a year ago.

that's not why we did the zone....
we did the zone when Dinma was not in there...then it worked pretty well so we continued it....
but he scored and rebounded well against the zone, too...
We had a lot of unforced TO and missed too many shots..

the problem was we couldnt defend the post in man-to-man. when will zone or helped inside they nailed the three. we need better post defense. i would like to see a zone press every once in while to take advantage of our athletic ability.
