What can you do when nothing seems to go in? I think a lot it was mental - CU had more confidence in their shots, and BU just couldn't take the lead.
The loss hurts, but I think the guys feel the hurt from this one more. They never quit fighting - somehow they gotta' get over this Creighton Funk (no pun intended)

and they agreed, this was the best their team had played all year long.
On the season, their 3-pt shooting is by far the worst in the Valley, yet they hit almost 40% last night...congrats to the Jays, they deserved the win last night.
I'll bet they hit "almost 40%" during pre-game warmups, too. And that's exactly how it looked to them with our pathetic defense.

[QUOTE=Da Coach;160886]The Braves played well. Creighton played the best game they have played all year. Creighton was the worst free throw shooting team, and the worst 3-point shooting team before tonight's game, but they shot extraordinarily well.
Our "D" can make a lot of teams shoot well and when you shoot well you get confidence and when you have confidence you make free throws. We just need to learn how to defend some of these offences that dana and some of the other MVC coaches employ.

Creighton shot 43.3% from the floor, 38.7% from the three point line and 75%from the free throw line. Those are not exactly earth shattering numbers in the game of basketball.
This idea that Creighton just waltzed down and drained all of these contested 25 footers is just not true. They certainly missed more than they made.

When you make 38.7% of your 3's that is llike making over 57% of your 2 point shots. Combine that with how many they made and it is a great shooting night.

I think Creighton's offense looked that much better since we missed so many shots badly. Most weren't bad shots either, but it looked like they didn't practice shooting after the Evansville game. AW didn't even hit rim on his finger roll from 2 feet away. To his, and to team's credit, they scrapped even when shots weren't falling.

No its not. The NCAA average is around 35-36% from three point land. Shooting 39% is certainly a bit above average but it isn't "lights out" or "great".
That was not a "great" shooting performance by Creighton. I've seen great shooting performances and last nights game doesn't fall into that category.

Yes it is. Creighton got 36 points off of 3's on 31 shots. To get those same 36 points off of 2 point shots they would have to make 18 of those attempts. That is a great shooting % of 3's made especially when a team makes 12.

No more about the refs but another thing that killed us was Lawson and not having a true big at the 5 that can match up against a true big. I like WE's game but what we need is a bulkier guy down in the paint that can hold their position without the help. Anticipating that double team led to wide open 3s. I'm not sure what we could have done differently except play tighter on the entry pass excpt perhaps front him with someone playing the weakside."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

I am not comparing anything to NCAA averages. I simply said that a team that shoots 38.7% from 3's is like a team that is able to shoot over 57% on 2's. If you are able to do that then that is great shooting especially if you consider shooting 50% good which I do.
