It was a pretty miraculous win. Devan Downey played like a bat out of hell. He was great with the ball, and made kentucky look terrible trying to guard him - but some of the shots he took were ridiculous, and just seemed to find their way in. On the other side of the court, in just the last several minutes, UK biffed two lay ups (including a steal break away freebie), and Wall broke down the guy guarding him and bricked a lay up as well.
It was kind of unreal to watch UK struggle to score so mightily, while Devan Downey seemed to be able to throw anything up and have it drop. That is just the way it works some nights, and for this reason, college basketball, is not college football - thankfully.Sungani umoyo womseko na wokonda waumbiri anznga.

I'm going with Syracuse for the new #1 considering they are 5-0 against top 25, including a 17 point demolishing of #12 Georgetown in last game, and 20-1 overall. Also, someone needs to make that SC pic below as their avatar LOL.

I live in Charleston, SC and my wife is a gamecock. That was a great night for Downey, but not a complete surprise if you've seen him play before. I believe he was preseason first team all SEC. South Carolina has sort of been on the cusp of reaching that next level for a couple years now but have been plagued by injuries. A couple years ago when Florida won the nat. championship, SC beat them TWICE during the reg season and then lost to them by a point or two in the SEC tourney. They are a solid program, they just built a new 18 or 19,000 seat arena, and really seem to be trying to ramp up the bball program. Downey is the real deal, but at 5'9" he's gonna have a tough time doing much beyond college.
