  • UNI remains ranked on ESPN/CNN poll

Well, not all bad news this week for Northern Iowa as they hang on to their top 25 ranking at #25 on the ESPN/CNN poll. They do drop however to #27 on the AP poll, in between two ACC teams, #26 Florida St. and #28 Clemson, and are not that far behind #25 UAB.

Speaking of the ACC, not only does North Carolina drop out of both polls, they got zero votes on the AP poll and just one vote on the ESPN/CNN poll!

Who would have believed that at this point in the season they would be unranked?!

Not many teams could go into Wichita and win so anybody that knows anything about college basketball would not hold that against them.

Right. The pollsters finally did their homework and did not automatically drop them off just because they don't reside in a BCS conference.

Having seen both Clemson and UNC play I do not think UNI could beat either team. JMO

I'd not bet against UNI on that. U of Il beat Clemson at Clemson and we beat U of I and UNI beat us! UNC plays very soft and are missing anyone resembling a strong 5. I bet they wish they had Julius Pepper type again. UNI would kill them inside IMO. JMO and I'm an ACC fan.
