  • Remaining Schedules

Of the teams in the Valley with .500 records or better...here's what each one has left...

and the more favorable schedules are the ones with only four instead of five road games, and I'd think it would be favorable to still have plenty of games against the guys that are ahead of you so you can still catch up.
To me it seems Wichita and Bradley thus have the best remaining schedules.
Plus, Bradley won't have to travel right in the midst of all this for the BracketBuster game.

UNI.. 7-1, 5 road games left, 0 game left vs. teams ahead of them, 7 games left vs. teams at or above .500
WSU 6-3, 4 road games left, 1 game left vs. teams ahead of them, 6 games left vs. teams at or above .500
ISU.. 5-4, 5 road games left, 2 game left vs. teams ahead of them, 6 games left vs. teams at or above .500
BU... 5-4, 4 road games left, 4 game left vs. teams ahead of them, 7 games left vs. teams at or above .500 (but 2 are against CU who are playing poorly right now)
DU... 5-4, 5 road games left, 4 game left vs. teams ahead of them, 7 games left vs. teams at or above .500
MSU. 4-4, 5 road games left, 4 game left vs. teams ahead of them, 6 games left vs. teams at or above .500
CU... 4-4, 5 road games left, 5 game left vs. teams ahead of them, 6 games left vs. teams at or above .500

Not necessarily- What is most important is winning the games you have left. It is usuallly easier to win games against teams that are below you in the standings, and are weaker than you.
As I have said in another thread- Of their 9 remaining games, Bradley has 5 home games (CU, DU, IlSU, UNI, and WSU) and 4 road games (IlSU, Evansville, InSU, and CU). Compared with the other teams that are fighting for 2nd and 3rd place, Bradley's schedule appears to be the most favorable.

      I'm confused...CU is 4-4

so BU really only has 2 games left (home with UNI and WSU)....as far as games against teams ahead, unless you are including the other 5-4 teams

Yes, that record above is an error- CU is 4-4.
CU and MSU play tonight. After that game, all teams will have 9 MVC games remaining.

but I think a team is better to play the teams ahead of them and win than to whup up on the teams below...
since that's the only way to guarantee that by winning, you pick up a full game on the team ahead of you...

You also listed two BU home games left against CU! Unless we are playing a "best of three" series against them this year, I'm sure you meant WSU.

no, the 2 against CU are among the games remaining against teams at or above .500, I make no claim they are both home games
and Da Coach is right that BU has 5 home games left...but the last one is WSU
