  • Once a Brave..

Did anyone note the passing of one member of the 1960-1961 and 1961-1962 Braves that were so highly rated and won so many games ( mostly due the likes of Chet Walker, etc..)

But Ted Munns was on the team and once a Brave....

Also note the passing of one of the truly great BU fans who was at every game for 30 years...
the obit has his pic, and I'll bet most will recognize him even if you didn't know him...

BTW -- another obit in New York is a key player who faced Bradley in the Championship game of the NCAA and NIT in 1950...
Irwin Dambrot had a game high 23 pts in the NIT Championship game, and 15 in the "Squeaky got fouled" title game of the NCAA.
Sadly this ended with the scandal.....read about it here.....

One more past Bradley basketball player just passed.....

Don Case....one of the few Braves who played both before AND after the war...and he is a hero on many counts...
He is a WWII veteran, serving at the rank of sergeant.
He played two seasons before the war in 1939-1941, then one more after the war..but also starred in football & baseball

He was a native of Princeville, IL, and graduated from Bradley in 1948...in fact thepicture in the obit is from the 1948 Bradley Yearbook.
having played 3 sports - football, basketball, and baseball...
He has been inducted into the Bradley University Athletic Hall of Fame, and also played baseball for the Cincinnati Reds organization.
He coached Legion baseball, was married 61 years, and the family asks..
"Memorials be made to the Bradley University Athletics Department."
