DV never had to go to one Greek meeting to get the Greek system out in numbers. We use to buy a huge block of season tickets for the whole house no questions asked. It's cheap and very entertaining.

    How to have fun...

    1) Saturday you can wake up and have an early lunch
    2) Head to a friends house and start having a few party favors
    3) Head to the game
    4) Go get a beer at the game
    5) Go to your seat and watch a great game
    6) After BU wins celebrate and head to another watering hole, if to young head to a friends place and celebrate some more
    7) Get some food before you really head out
8 )Find a girl and go out again because you are in a great mood and hopefully so is she

You only have 4 years (for most) to live in an environment with so little responsibility except grades, living in a co-ed environment with so much time to socialize. Trust me it does not get too much better, Step away from your Wii and Xbox 360 and start enjoying the things right in front of you. Time is ticking!!!!!!!

Saturday afternoon games are fun, but that family thing is at the Civic Center this Saturday, which means parking will be a complete impossibility.

Why'd you mention that? Now they have another excuse. Maybe the students have to be reminded that the bars on Farmington Rd will be open after the game.

I hope we don"t overlook Evansville on saturday as every game is important and the most important one is the next one you play.
Students need to show up and support your team , they are exciting to watch and represent the University well, now its your turn to show some support.

I look at it like this. I am from Peoria and BU basketball was one of the things I could not miss by going away to school. I have been a fan since I was old enough to understand and went with my dad my whole life. So when I came to BU I already had the knowledge and passion for BU basketball. I understand it is probably hard for kids to come to Bradley with no knowledge of our basketball team and become die hard fans...I guess it takes a little while to get involved.

I can't stand having to beg my roommates to go to games! It is like a last resort for most of them and ones that do go still have no idea about where we are in the MVC standings or how we are doing...or even who our big players are. Last year I had to talk to my professor to switch out 3 labs that occurred on game nights. BU basketball is the biggest thing in Peoria!

Are you serious about difficult parking in Peoria????

I am a cheap old man and never ever paid for parking in the parking garage or the land lot but there are two decks, two land lots for pay but even without that on a Saturday there are free parking spots all over the streets. There are tons of spots all over the place right next to the arena.

Even if you parked down by the old Sears store thats only what a 3 or 4 block walk... are you kidding me that a 4 block walk is to much or impossible.

All of you who use the parking as an excuse please grow a pair.

Just heard JL on the radio ask people to go eat at Avanti's but not go to the BU game on Saturday. He must not be to worried about attendance.

These people that complain about parking never went to a game at the fieldhouse and had to walk a considerable way to the front entrance, talk about spoiled.

Remember the Creighton game in DV's first or second year. A snow storm paralized the city. I lived in W. Peoria and walked through mounds of snow to get their. Their was no parking on the side streets where I'd usually park. Spoiled is the perfect word. Now students hate to have to ride a bus down the hill. Not too far to walk on for an afternoon game either.

So now when we can't complain about the team we complain about the fans. Come on I'm sure 95% of the people that view this board go to BU games religiously if at all possible. You guys are wasting your time.

We used to get to games at the Fieldhouse when I was a kid 2 hours prior to the game just to get a spot on the street near the Fieldhouse. Games though then used to begin at 8pm.

Also, if anyone thinks the parking at BU/Carver is bad, go to an ISU game in Normal. Ive had to park out by the baseball field and walk arriving with ice formed in my eyes because of the cold and the long walk... and was not even rewarded with a cold beer.

I was not taking them of complaining about the fans but the students and fair weather fan that are complaining about the degree of difficulty it is to get to a BU game. I can understand if there is a blizzard or ice storm but any other excuse is just laughable. Parking and traffic in Peoria is a walk in the park compared to most metropolitan areas. The student body IMO has zero excuses for not heading to a Saturday afternoon game!

Sadly most students who care about college bball come in U of I fans and laugh at the level of the valley. They just don't care about BU basketball it's not the degree of difficulty in getting to games its the lack of interest that keeps most students away. It is frustrating, but was very enjoyable when we beat U of I.

And that has always been an issue, but I guarantee winning will solve that excuse. No way if we play ISU WSU or UNI and that game means something that those U of I fans wont go, just simply because it is a big game, and will want to see and be part of that atmosphere.

Now if U of I is playing at the same time then most U of I fans will choose that game, same with me as a BU fan if BU plays I watch BU regardless of if or who U of I plays. I get that and if that is how it is then fine.

Oh and a U of I fan should understand that the level of basketball played in the Big Ten isnt really very good regardless of the name on the front of the jersey. Its like watching a combination of wrestling and hockey in shorts and tank tops.
