To be more on topic with this thread, I really do hope a large crowd comes out on Saturday. I know that I'll be there early and so will my friends that are always there too.

I tend to be more that way. I don't jump. I definitely make noise when the time is right. But sometimes I don't even go to the student section...I just skip it entirely and go to the upper level to ENJOY the game rather than looking through people.
Edit: I did jump a little when I was a freshmen and somewhat as a sophomore. haha if that counts for anything

I remember days when there was hardly anyone at that end of the court accept the band and cheerleaders.
The cheerleaders never left, the students will be back, and (no offense to the Alumni & Friends Band - cuz they do a bang up job) most important, (as far as noise goes) THE BAND will be back.

I think the athletic department does a poor job engaging the Greek community or other large student groups to come to the games, at least in my stint from 01-05. They always said 1/3rd of the campus is greek and I think besides once at the beginning of the season, Mo or JL would stop by a chapter meeting with a player or two asking people to come out. After that, nothing was really publicized to get people out to the games. All it takes is getting a few guys/girls from a house to go to the game and then a few more come and it builds from there.

We use to have to buy season student tickets to get a seat. What the %^#& happened to the student body. The shuttle system is not bad. What, it takes a little walk from your room and then a 5 minute bus trip? The parking fee divided between 4 people is???? I'd suspect that there are some people in the student body that love to go to games no matter what, those that only go when they are winning (fair weather fan) and some who do not like sports (which is fine) or a bunch of apathetic kids who would rather hide behind their video games and computer monitor then face reality.
Cut the cord and enjoy life. BU basketball is so much more then a basketball game. Guess what you get to interact with your community."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

Oh and last year everyone complained because the students were away for ISU, SIU and CU... well from here on in we still host.... ISU, CU, UNI, WSU no excuses, each of those games along with Eville and Drake deserve over 10K and a sell out for UNI, ISU and WSU should not be out of the question.

I know this doesn't mean a lot to some of you on here, but it does show that they made an effort to get the Greek community at the games. After all, Jim Les was Greek.
As far as parking goes, if you look hard enough, you can find free parking within a couple blocks of the stadium, I park there for just about every game unless a friend of mine who works at Carver gives me a ride and we park in the employee lot.

ticket costs $1. a buck per game, creak open that wallet.
free transportation (charter) to and from game. A free taxi/DD <--a very rare opportunity here, get on it.
With all the cash you're saving here why not pony up and have a few drinks?! At most colleges you couldn't have this luxury, so take advantage of it. Or you could just really man up and go nuts without the booze, that'd be impressive.
Sadly I'm pretty sure our best fan (out of the S.S.) from the past few years is somewhere near the Equality State right about now and as a result our entire S.S. looks like a chicken with it's head cut off out there. C'mon people- it's just one guy, even if he was the fan of the year 3 years running- someone STEP UP and LEAD this crew.
And what ever happened to body paint? Did they stop making it? Haven't seen that stuff in eons. Or perhaps one of those multi-colored clapper things? They have 'em at Dollar Tree I'm sure- oh wait, that would involve spending a dollar which is obviously ridiculous. So I would suggest Chuck e Cheese, where you could win it instead. (Perhaps tag along on a little sibling's birthday to avoid paying the entry fee) Signs too much effort too? Stop by Heuser and have the art people give you a hand.

A Saturday afternoon game guys! They are the best to get started early and then hang downtown and have a few! If you are inclined to wait until the evening to get going you can head home and take a nap after the game. Games use to be events. DV never had to go to one Greek meeting to get the Greek system out in numbers. We use to buy a huge block of season tickets for the whole house no questions asked. It's cheap and very entertaining.
How to have fun...
1) Saturday you can wake up and have an early lunch
2) Head to a friends house and start having a few party favors
3) Head to the game
4) Go get a beer at the game
5) Go to your seat and watch a great game
6) After BU wins celebrate and head to another watering hole, if to young head to a friends place and celebrate some more
7) Get some food before you really head out
8 )Find a girl and go out again because you are in a great mood and hopefully so is she
You only have 4 years (for most) to live in an environment with so little responsibility except grades, living in a co-ed environment with so much time to socialize. Trust me it does not get too much better, Step away from your Wii and Xbox 360 and start enjoying the things right in front of you. Time is ticking!!!!!!!"Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."
