Long ways to go. As good as the last week has been, we're still only a .500 team. Let's revisit this at the end of February.

maybe I am reading that wrong ..but isn't steady improvement what is normal?

I agree, but some people gave up on this team too early.

There were still some lapses tonight where we looked awful. Bad shots, dumb fouls, crazy turnovers at the end. But those things are becoming less common.

They are much improved, and for all of the people that wanted to blame all of the bad on Les, they would be unfair if they did not give him some credit for the good. It's an age old illusion, much worse at the lower levels like high school: the coach gets the credit for the losses, the players get the credit for the wins. A bit unfair, I like to see both get credit for both.

I was referring to the Wessler article "better days are not ahead." Some people gave up too early. We don't know how things are going to end up, but right now it looks like the team and staff are giving everything they've got.

What I like is that "IF" this team has bought into this style of D first, they will practically all be back next year, so we shouldn't see the rollercoaster start for the umpteenth year in a row.

My feelings about the staff and direction of the program are still the same. A couple of wins getting us to .500 doesn't change that. They don't change the body of work to this point. Get me a top 3 finish and into the NCAA's this year and I'll change my tune. Doesn't mean I won't still enjoy the wins! Tonight was fun!

Great win tonight...Super efforts from Sammy and Will...they are quickly becoming the anchors of this team....

Andrew and Taylor were awful once again...that needs to change in a hurry if we are going to string together more conference wins.

Sam Singh...ugh. I feel bad for the guy...because I know he is trying...but if he is our best post option off the bench, it is time for Sticks to find a spot on a D-II team next year...

Anyway...glad to see Les get the Carbondale monkey off his back tonight...two big home games coming up that should give us an idea of whether we will have a chance to be battling for a top 3 spot in conference or clawing our way out of the 6/7 death match...

Bradley seizes control of 3rd place all alone by this time next week, and riding a 4 game win streak into a major showdown in Normal on the 30th...BOOK IT!

I don't like telling everyone I told you so... But... I did mention that Sam is the heart and leader of this team... People said he didn't have the 'athleticism' of EM, that EM opened up the offense and should be starting over SM... Anyone still actually want to make that argument?

I have been saying the same thing for the past two years as well...Sam Maniscalco may not pass the 'eye test' for some of the folks on this site...but he is the leader of this team and is an unquestioned starting guard for this squad over the next two years...it is laughable for anyone to say that this team would be better off with Eddren McCain starting over Sammy...

Oh, I know ER3. I was just piggy-backing off your comment. I really think he is an all-mvc caliber player. Probably wont be seen that way stat-wise, but when he is on it changes the game. How many big games did AW or TB have that we lost? SM is a gamechanger, plain and simple...

I agree that SM was a game changer tonight. 1 of the few this year that he has shown that ability. Hopefully it continues!
Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.
