Some of my fondest memories of my time at Bradley in the early 80's were watching the Braves take on Tulsa and Wichita State at the Field House. Those were 3 incrediable teams with amazing, talented players and world-class coaches.

Last night, I got a chance to watch Phil Pressey play.

Phil is the son of Paul Pressey who played at Tulsa and was an important part of the Tulsa NIT championship the year before Bradley won the NIT. Phil, one of the top PGs in the country, has verballed to Missouri.

Phil is the son of Paul Pressey who played at Tulsa and was an important part of the Tulsa NIT championship the year before Bradley won the NIT. Phil, one of the top PGs in the country, has verballed to Missouri.

That makes two players in Mizzou's class who are the sons of former MVC players who played in the NBA. Ricky Kreklow, son of former Bulldog and Celtic Wayne Kreklow has also signed with Missouri.

Missouri coach Mike Anderson was a teammate on that Tulsa team with Paul Pressey back in the early '80s. It helped him land Phil Pressey.

Big Game at Field House

I remember the Saturday game against Tulsa at the field house. The game was televised locally on CBS. Bradley beat Tulsa to win the conference only to lose to ISU in the first round of the MVC tournament which sent them to the NIT which they won.

Very corrupt league at that time. Good talent though.

A teammate of Pressey's is a 6-8 PF, Trevor Fuller, who was offered by SIU and MSU, but signed with San Diego. His Dad, Jeff Fuller, helped the 49'ers win 3 superbowls.

Pressey's team had little trouble with my son's team even though we had lost only one game up until last night.

I agree! As I said in another thread how many NBA players did we get to watch from these teams? How many of you guys remember watching Shea Seals for Tulsa? What a player then we also were lucky to see my favorite all time non-Brave Xavier McDaniel! For those who do not remember him you probably were not born yet or too young because even as you were rooting for BU I never heard anyone say anything bad about him or even yell at him during the game. He played with a ton of heart and was a man among boys. Luckily we had our stars and man child to compete with them but what fun it was to go to those games and see those battles.
