Its a liability and insurance issue. Especially at large venues like Big 12 or SEC venues. Add in that some of the fans that rush the court/field could be intoxicated and it heightens the risk of something bad happening.

The worst was some of our SS rushing when we beat UNI last year.

      1. You can't rush court against teams from your own conference you beat on a yearly basis....10 years is different.

      2. I think you can rush the court if you are ranked and beat a LEGIT number 1 ranked team. Only number 1.

Maybe we should rush the court when we get our first conference victory...unless it is against ISU red.... then again we can't lose that game.

OK to rush the PCC court with BU's first home MVC win?

Or, should BU fans act like BU has won there before and will win again....?

i personally dont have a problem with it. i see where its "unnecessary" and what not but if you beat a good team, or win with a buzzer beater, i think its a great way to show support for your team as long as you are doing it "right" and not just drunkenly destroy property.

that was far from a true "rushing the court"...
more like a "rushing interruptus" as only a handful of fans got part way out onto the floor...

Even I can say I "stormed" a court once. AT MSG when the Braves beat Purdue for NIT title. Of course it took us a while to get down there from our seats, but we were down there for the trophy presentations. I stood next to LaVerne Tart, had a nice conversation and he was proud to be a Brave. Great trip. A bunch of us watch the BU-Oklahoma game at the old Tartan Inn. Don D made a call after the win and a quick plane trip was arranged and had enough interest that 2 planes were needed. As usual Ken G did a great job. The good old days, but I'm sure they will return.

Thanks. Really appreciate all you've done. Now I can get into the modern age. I think the one, if that was the only one, I taped over must have been programmed on the wrong station. I don't ever remember even putting any of those tapes into the VCR to watch.
Off to Mountainbrook for 18 holes.

Yeah, there weren't many of us, but i had a great time, and i remember AW telling my friend he was glad we were there and showing our support for their hard work and well played game.

and we were all the way out on the floor. the PCC staff and the police officer told us before the game ended that we could "storm"

Another couple sad rushing the court examples...

Indiana State knocks off Missouri State, both teams are 6-1 and yet the the Sycamore fans rushed the court and carried a player off on their shoulders!

Wright State beat Butler...and team that's sitting at 4th in their league amnd they rused the court and also carried a player off on their shoulders...

Rushing the court is about a feeling that is generated throughout a crowd that can be unexplainable so why not enjoy the moment in the way you want to as long as no one gets hurt! Rules of when you have to or not? What are we a bunch of ex-hall monitors.

another eerie example of rushing the court last night, when Indiana barely scores 50 in a badly played, sloppy game to beat a middle-of-the-pack conference opponent during the regular season...

One of the Indiana bloggers thought this was so sad that IU would celebreat a win like this as if it's the Superbowl......that he writes an apology this morning to all the good Hoosier fans

" Beating Illinois at Assembly Hall should be the expectation, not the exception,
and rushing the floor is what Illinois should do their place when they beat IU."
