  • Player of the Game and game stats from 1470 radio

I think that the announcing from radio 1470 is excellent! However, I do have one request. If any of our posters, moderators, or senior members have the ability to speak with one of the announcers would the following please be passed along; I am a season ticket holder and I go to every home game. One of the things that I enjoy most is after the game when I get into my car and listen to the post game show. In particular. I love to listen to player and game stats. For some time now by the time I get to my car, which is rather quickly, the stats are already over. It seems that the goal of the stats is to allow coach Stowell to give them as quickly as possible so that he can get home. There is usually the comment, "coach Stowell you can get home now". Is it possible to give the stats a little later in the broadcast? I know many other people that attend the games and have made the same observation. There are literally thousands of people that leave the game, get into the car, and listen to the post game show. Unfortunately, the stats are usually over by the time we get to our cars>.Has anyone else noticed this as well? Thanks.

I think it's been this way since I was a kid (70's & 80's). I remember getting to ther car and having missed most of the stats. Of course, I think they ususually go over them one more time before signing off. Don't they?

The other thing you can do is look up the box score on the internet when you get home. Bobby Parker does a great job getting the box up quickly... or Yahoo! Sports also has it fast.

Hard to complain about the postgame because it is tremendous, but the stats were reported almost as the game was ending today.

I went to a game at Rupp Arena back around 2001.

Postgame Radio show is broadcast over the speakers IN THE ARENA.

It was really neat. I watched an unranked Kentucky team upset then #4 Tennessee. Me and my friends then climbed out of the rafters and settled in behind the scoretable/bench section along with hundreds of other fans. We all sat and listened to the postgame show discussion, stats, and interviews. As the show would go to a break the crowd would cheer and applaud a little bit. It was a real neat atmosphere.

Maybe the "powers that be" can get the Peo Civic Center to hookup the postgame show and pipe it over the loudspeakers as fans are filing out. And you never know, some might just stay there and listen (instead of racing out to their cars with 2 minutes left in the game).

What A win-win for the fan, Bradley, 1470 and the Civic center. Is it possible that someone can pass this on to the powers that be. tremendous idea!! What a great solution! Is it possible that "some4one" can think outside of the box?

I remember when the old Fieldhouse scoreboard would have all the player stats displayed during the game...... See my avatar.
