Branding! The NCAA loves the connection that they are the pathway to the NBA!
No they don't. In fact, they run a series of commercials telling people how majority of their athletes are 'going pro in something other than sports'. Show me one example of where this can be proven.
Sure the NCAA's "public persona" is the academic focus, such an idealistic PR image they try to put out while making multi-million $ TV contracts.
I think the NCAA would ban or punish interactions with guys like World Wide Wes if they were serious about only academics and not being a pathway to the NBA.
I have been told by people closer to things than I am that the NCAA would not look kindly on DV rejoining the BU coaching staff.
Haven't most of those NCAA people involved with Versace moved on? I find it hard to believe that the current staff of the NCAA even remembers what happened with Versace and BU.
I hate to say it but listing to dicks telecast as a color man for comcast iam afraid he is trapped in the 80s and I don't see that benefitting any program.
perhaps it's a ploy to help land the sons of Hersey and JJ.
Don't know about JJ's son, but the Hawk's youngest son is already committed to Arizona St. for next year. He is on the top rated team in his division and is an all-stater.

Please, bring back the 80's. Especially the 32-3 record and a great trip to Salt Lake City and Ogden.
I taped the game so I listened to his halftime comments and got the feeling he is not talking about BU but some kind of coaching stint in Chicago, this is just a guess but probably assisting somebody in high school.
More on the topic of assistants than DV, but I though it was relevant. So is JC going back to play next year or is he going to be permanently on the staff, cause wasn't he hired just as interim director of basketball operations?? I'd love for him to be on the staff for good, but I know some are looking for a more experienced coach to be on staff.
You can put me in this crowd...not necessarily at the expense of JC...I just feel like we HAVE to get some more experience.
If that comes from DV all the better.
I agree that every coach could use someone that has been there before with them on the sideline, I hope it is not JC that has to go though for that to happen, but maybe he is going back to play anyway. I guess we will just see next year what happens with that, until then we won't know.
