  • ORU at BU

Just left Markin and the Oral Roberts basketball team was going into Haussler. I saw on their schedule the player WIU tomorrow night. Is it common for teams to stop at other schools besides their opponents for shoot arounds? I just thought this was kind of different.

ORU is having a decent season under a young Sutton as their coach! How far is WIU from Peoria. Perhaps they flew into P-town and asked BU due to timeif they could use our facility.

That would be the logical explanation. WIU and Macomb are only about 70 miles from Peoria if my memory is accurate.

Yeah, 70 miles but about two hours.

ORU has a 6'9" freshman center from Alaska, Damen Bell-Holter. He is from Alaska, and is a friend of Will Egolf. He originally committed to Barry Hinson and Missouri State, but then was released from his commitment and ended up at ORU.

Is it (or was it) possible for the two teams to scrimmage?
            Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

No it's against NCAA rules. The only scrimmages between different schools that are allowed are the scheduled preseason ones that are counted as exhibitions (D2), or closed scrimmages (D1).

Maybe the administration asked Scott Sutton to stop by and have a look at our new facilities....

I suspect if he keeps doing well at ORU he will skip right onto a BCS school.

Not a bad thought, but I suspect Mo made the arrangements.

They're just doing a recon for their BracketBuster game with us next month.

I don't know if it is common, but when I worked at the fieldhouse during high school and college, we would have another school in to practice every once in awhile. Probably happened once a year.

I don't think it's uncommon at all. My son's college team would practice at a high school in an area when when they had a series of out of state games
