He gave us a verbal which counts for as much as all our opinions on BU basketball and no he did not sign the LOI in which his legal council told him not to for legal reasons.

Hmmm, must be taking a little time for some last minute window shopping of prospective colleges.

as for Wilkins, I suspect we will hear when we hear....
My sources tell me that Lirpa is looking to announce his collegiate intentions sometime in the early spring...end of March, first week of April is probably the timeframe he is looking at.

Again another opinion that really is just that! Unless anyone has actually talked to JW or a close friend then this is all very speculative. I'm going to start taking MM's point of view on all matters of recruiting. That is I do not care anymore about, who said, she said comments. When they show up on campus I'll start to follow them in earnest and then root for them.

T, I agree with you 100% that matters that really concern a large % of the population and their quality of life should be ushered to the top of the docket. I'm glad to see that you were secure enough to point that out.

How about speeding up the process a bit with the classic "paper sack full of money" and get this horse in the BU barn??

Well really what I heard from a good source regarding Lirpa is that his twin brother, who is by the way a world class junior goalkeeper, is in a semi-pro soccer league and there has been a bit of confusion from the NCAA about who is who because they are identical twins and photos have come up with the twin holding a check after signing. More to come about this grand conspiracy!

If Lirpa was planning on playing for Kentucky or UNC, I guarantee that the eligibility issues would all be cleared up by now...but since he wants to play for BU, they will drag their feet and make sure that he never is eligible to come here...
I've seen the pictures of his twin, and they are nearly impossible to tell apart, so it may be a long drawn out process to determine which of them is actually holding the check in the photo...I have heard that the FBI is working on some new Photographic Retinal Scan technology that they hope can be used to positively identify individuals in photographs...so maybe this technology will be able to help BU prove that the guy in the photo with the check is actually Jurka Sloof, not Lirpa...**fingers crossed**

A preliminary injunction generally requires a showing of harm from delay (which would seem to be obvious here), as well as a likelihood of prevailing on the merits of the case.

I'd be very surprised if Wilkins lawyers haven't had a hearing re preliminary injunctive relief at this point, so the fact that he's still not playing (if that's the case) may mean the judge wasn't very receptive to their arguments.
..or as I suspect, like Ruffin's case, Ruffin could continue to practice with the team as long as the appeal was ongoing. When the final ruling was issued (by ACT?) Ruffin could no longer practice with the team. (wasn't so bad for him because an NBA 1st round point guard was found in so many open gyms when Ruff had no college team to practice against)
According to DR, Wilkins is practicing with his juco team. I somewhat think the Wilkins appeal is delayed because his appeal is allowing him to practice. It may be possible that a final negative ruling would make him ineligible for practice, too.

Only known Image of Lirpa Sloof
Word is he's a great rebounder, tough in the paint, can finish above the rim, but he can't read, write or comprehend ANYTHING, so hes gonna have a hard time getting a qualifying test score. Bruce Pearl is still interested.

A lot of people have such a negative attitude on this issue. I have never seen anything of REAL substance saying he isn't coming here. So until he says otherwise I will believe him. I definitely hope he ends up here, but if he doesn't both sides will move on and be fine.

I agree BUfan14. I mean, maybe he doesn't come here, but if the kid says he is, I'll take his word for it until he does otherwise. I don't think there is any advantage to him saying he's coming here if he didn't plan on it. Especially if he really does hold 50 other offers. He supposedly has plenty of other options, so why keep saying he's coming to BU if he doesn't intend to?

Is Bradley Basketball going to live or die with out Wilkins or for that matter any other player NO Can anyone say he is or will be all he is made out to be and is a sure answer to the BU BB program He has not even hit the floor in any kind of college game yet! Am I going to be upset, or wish the young man bad luck if he chooses to attend another school or go back to Europe and play NO Instead, I will just wise him well, as I would anyone else! It's pretty simple, if he wants to play for BU or any other school he knows what the NCAA set forth so he can do that. Like it or not the NCAA sets the rules I am with you SFP, show up and then I will root and support them in earnest
