Bradley's soccer team is young and inexperienced and has struggled so far, but Friday night they beat Central Arkansas 4-1.
Bradley is now 2-4-1. This team has a lot of talent and will be pretty good by the later part of the season.

PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley juniors Nick Mentgen and Drew DeGurian both contributed a goal and an assist, leading the Braves (2-4-1) to a 4-1 non-conference men's soccer victory versus Central Arkansas (3-5-0) in front of 908 fans Friday night at Shea Stadium.? Joe Donoho and Zach Bell also got in on the scoring for the Braves, who snapped a four-game losing streak.

Bradley plays again Sunday against UMKC in a 1 p.m. match at Shea Stadium.

BU soccer is off to a slow start this year (3-4-1), mostly because of tough early road games and a lot of youth on the team.

But the other Missouri Valley soccer teams are also struggling a bit.

Creighton soccer, a perennial Top 25 program is 4-2-2, with two early tournament losses and two ties to Oregon and Fairleigh Dickinson.

Missouri State, who will be in town next weekend to play in the
Holiday Inn City Centre Classic, is 5-1-2, with a loss to FDU and ties to ORU & N. Florida.

Drake 3-4-1 has failed to get a win in each of its last five contests.

5 of the 7 MVC teams (only EIU & Evansville) are undefeated at home and Bradley is 2nd behind Creighton in both home attendance and overall attendance.
