There is another big man looking for a school this year--
Cem Dinc is a 6'10" center/forward originally from Turkey. His father is Turkish and his mother is German. His family moved to Germany and he grew up and played high school basketball there, but he also played for the Turkish national team. He spent the 2004-2005 season at a prep school (Brewster Academy). He committed early, in 2004, to Buffalo, but later reopened his recruitment. He signed with Indiana in 2005. But he played very little for the Hoosiers (he appeared in 3 games for a total of 12 minutes). After the 2005-2006 season, he left Indiana and declared for the 2006 NBA draft. But he later withdrew and it was rumored he was planning to play professionally in Europe. But he never played pro either, and is now looking to return to play college ball somewhere. He wanted to return to Indiana, and was still listed as a scholarship player on the Indiana roster until a couple weeks ago, but he apparently did not enroll for the fall semester.
He has been seen in Bloomington, Indiana and has talked to new Indiana coach Kelvin Sampson about re-enrolling and rejoining the Hoosier team. However, Sampson has reportedly told Dinc that the only way he would be allowed back would be to go to a juco and play a year or 2 there then transfer back to Indiana. Since he was a qualifier out of prep school, he could transfer to another 4-year school (and sit out a season)or to a juco and be immediately eligible.
Rumor is that he is scrambling to find another school to enroll at.
