Well it was a loss but it was a better overall effort for signs of progress. Rebounding was 10 times better. Defense was good, any time you make a team commit 20+ turnovers, something was good on the D. The offense was average but against UNI, it was pretty good. A couple of bad calls near the end and this game probably was ours.

Another showing like this on Saturday against MO State and this season might be salvageable.

Because it went right over your head, I think I pointed out that every game we come out and give up 6 to 10 points to start the 2nd half and this starts and adds to our second half problems! There, can you understand that, because thats my point Come on Man

As much as I HATE losing... I saw a lot better defense than what we have had the past 5 games... We rebounded ALOT better tonight... That call against DSE was a horrible call when he went up for the rebound... I do like what I saw tonight and we missed a few good shots that could have fell but we also took a few bad shots.... I just looked up the start of the 2006 conference and we were 2-5 to start the conference then we got on a roll after that so hopefully the history repeats its self... GO BRAVES

Warren had a tough shooting night and had a couple of bad turnovers, but his D was good and he pulled down some boards. I'm pretty sure he got doubled any time he touched the ball. Not a big night for him, but neither did he contribute nothing. TB DID have a down game.

Egolf is the one I just don't get. Guy had 9 first half rebounds. I think he probably scored in double digits so may have had a double double. He also kept eglseder in check most of the night. He did have two bad fouls (though one was because he had to help SM who got beat). He played hard and put up numbers so I'm not seeing the "awful" here.

I'm depressed, we had a chance, didn't get to see it but it sounded like we played hard, just missed too many shots and turned the ball over too many times. That's basketball I guess. We still get MSU and UNI at home, so if we can win those and a few others we can build some confidence going into the MVCT. It's going to take winning the MVCT to make the NCAA tournament, we've all known that now for a couple weeks. So I guess the only thing to do is sit back and see how we develop and hope for a good 3 or 4 day run in March. I like all our players and I didn't expect things to turn out this way

Believe Will had 4 or 5 turnovers. Not good to work so hard to get a stop, rebound, steal...and then turn it over most of which were unforced!
Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.

Time for a new coach. Efforts not there and we lose...coaching. Efforts there and its a close but we lose...coaching. Improbable losses at the end of games...coaching.

Better effort tonight and Sammy brought it again.

Anyone else notice how well this team played in the zone tonight? Thinking that JL should consider going to it as a mainstay.

That being said, the team fell off at points in the 2nd half, there were way too many unforced turnovers again, and too many players were non existent at many points in the game...and a loss is still a loss.

Better effort...time to bring it home, play 40, and go on a roll before it's too late.

All-in-all, I think there was effort, and they worked for the lion's share of the game. That being said, the style of play isn't going to be consistent. Playing with absolutely no post, doing the 'weave' thing + mid-range, and 3 points shots, isn't ever going to be consistent. It is a strategy that will win some games, but it is the farthest thing from reliable. The bummer is, with the strategy/players we have and employ we can be playing with incredible effort, be executing perfectly, and still get blown out because shots aren't falling.

I thought the rebounding looked good, I thought we took a lot of decent shots, we just didn't land much in the way of mid-range, and inside shots. Obviously there were some turnovers you'd want back, but I thought we played a good game for our style of play, its just our style of play has a limited return.

On the topic of MVC style points, Florida State lost, so seems like Northern Iowa will be moving into top 25

I got it, but it still came across like you were nitpicking just on tonight's game when this was one of the best efforts this team has put forth this season. I know we need to see some wins now, but I hope that this effort is duplicated on Saturday and beyond.

Sure we gave up 6 points at the start of the second half, but it wasn't 10, and unlike other games, we composed ourselves very quickly. I don't think that was the big difference in the game since we made a run, but we can withstand a quick 5 points over a 15 point lead collapse any day.

Sorry if I came across in the wrong way, but unlike other times, we overcame and limited our second half collapse. If we keep up the effort we saw tonight, we win on Saturday.

Yea this wasn't the game to be calling for a new coach. Everything we've been complaining about was at least looking better...especially the defense. The offense...well some shots just weren't falling. AW and TB both had streaks where they missed 3 or 4 shots in a row. TB in the first half and AW in the 2nd.

Sadly, other than the Illinois win, per many posters on this thread, it seems losing to UNI on the road by 2 is the second biggest highlight of the season so far for BU. A sure sign BU will escape the play in game this season and be favored to win the Valley next year. How low have expectations sunk from preseason boasts that prognosticators picking BU 6th in the Valley were morons.

If wishing for something was all that was needed, BU would run off 12 in a row....

For those who can't live without JL, be careful what you wish for.

I am sorta confused...How much was UNI's turnovers a product of our D, rather than UNI just being plain sloppy? I need to see more to be convicted.

Did it seem like our methodology at the beginning was giving it to Will inside? What was this? 1. Egelseder is huge 2. WILL HAS NO POST GAME...why can't someone teach him a post move? Like tell him to watch Mike Tisdale sometime. Even though he is shorter a jump hook would still be effective...

Did anyone see the Illini game by chance? I watched it after and Demetri McCamey CARRIED Illinois to their victory. It was EPIC. I wish we had someone that could do this.

3 fouls with under a minute to go is rare. I mean DSE's charge call makes a huge difference. I wouldn't call Jacobson's coaching at the end "masterful" I think they were blessed to have 3 fouls and it was common sense.....

End of play? I don't like TB throwing the ball in if we are going for a tip in. I would also rather see a shot.

I will be out of town for MO state....oh well good luck as they got railed tonight

When a team is the underdog...it is huge to capitalize on the opponents TO's.....instead we match the sloppy play with worse sloppy play!!! it is gut wrenching! game was all around just awful
