I think it is relative to the other tongue-wagging player from Chicago.

OK - time to revive this thread dedicated to Sam Maniscalco....

Great game Sammy....he is one of the best players playing in the Valley right now...even if he isn't getting the notice
and press he deserves (and I know that's not at the top of the list of what he covets)!

But Sam has consistently been making the great plays and the key plays and who would you more want with the ball in his hands or at the FT line in a tough situation??

So -- All you who have said (even quite recently) that Sam should not be playing so many minutes, or should not be our PG, or is not good enough to be a starter, etc...

Please place your humble apologies right here.....

I like Sammy and want him to be around the minutes he played last night...

But I am one to admit when I am wrong...

He has done an outstanding job as of late and has been a major part in the turnaround...

His play has been nothing short of impressive and at times he has carried the team on his back when Taylor and Andrew have no-shown.

          Great job Sammy!

I will. Sam has been playing better than I thought he was capable of. But this apology is shaded with an explanation. Early in the season he was turning the ball over a lot, playing out of control, and a step slow on defense. It looks like it was due to a nagging injury that has since healed. So when i felt that EM should be PG over him, it wasn't without reason, or because of a personal feeling towards the guy.

I am glad to be wrong here. A good SM makes the whole team better. keep it up, Sammy!

Sam has really elevated his game since conference play began. Whether it was getting healthy or playing through a funk, all credit goes for him to taking on a leadership role on a team that's sorely lacking one. He's playing some of his best basketball of his career right now. Keep it up!

I could not agree with you more T I cannot believe some can't see how good of a player this young man is and has been sense the day he arrived at BU They must be blind or know very little about BB, or both Just read some of their posts, as recently as in thread Des Not to take anything away from Des because he has a great future but please, Sammy is our PG till he leaves and the team leader There is not another BU player and only a few in the MVC that brings what Sammy brings to a team NOT ONE player brings it every game like this young man If they did our record would be a lot better. One, can only say to all those who doubt, fail to recognize and to give credit to our PG, please, Come on Man

and I can't say I know him real well, but I have had lunch with Sam and talked many times with him and his dad...and he is a tremendous young man as well....
You will never read of Sam driving around at 4AM with dope and guns, he's really a great kid...and a credit to Carl and his wife...
Sam's got a real sense of humor, too and enjoys Buffalo Wild Wings, Steak and Shake, and Subway...
He's an All American in every sense in my mind..........

I love SM as a player and knew we needed him at his best. However, I never felt like we could be as good a team with SM playing such a prominent role on the offensive end.

He has proven me WRONG. Keep it up Sammy!

I've always been behind Sam and have never been one to call for him to come off the bench behind anyone. No apology necessary from me but I do hope he continues improving and carrying this team.

SM in his last six games:

                        17.0ppg, 2.83apg, 3.5rpg, 1.2tpg

                        56.1FG%, 80.6%FT, 41.9% 3pt.

He has stepped up when others have fallen back a bit. Let's get everyone going at the same time and run through St. Louis!

I think the key is that he is producing while taking less shots and looking to penetrate and find bigs rather than relying on perimeter shots. I think he took 9 shots last night, but was fouled a lot and how did WE do again?

I'm not going to apologize. Sam was playing poorly, now he's playing great. It was long whispered he had an ankle injury which now seems healed. I'm happier than anyone that sam's playing to the level his play as a sophomore indicated he might do as a junior. He's been a favorite of mine and whether it's health or getting through a slump I believe he is the biggest reason the Braves have been playing better lately.

Instead of an apology I'll offer encouragement. KEEP IT UP SAMMY!

I'm with you St Louis. No shame in admitting when you were wrong and manning up. I also questioned him starting but it was due to his D and does seem that his injury to his ankle were bothering him a lot more then any of the general public new. The guy is looking a lot more like the guy we saw last year. His emergence along with WE and DSE makes us a different team and once AW and TB come back around the sky the limit!
