It was reported that Bruce Weber was in town last yesterday to visit Matt Roth.
Numerous posters on the illiniboard think UIUC should not offer Roth and instead go "after bigger fish".
What does everyone think?

Weber also visited Bill Cole at Richwoods.

Weber has not offered a scholarship to Roth, but is apparently still interested and following him closely.

Matt Roth is one of the best pure shooters in Illinois in the Class of 2008. Just because he doesn't play in the Chicagoland area (and get a lot of publicity) doesn't make him any less of a top-notch recruit.

Roth has NBA range on his jumpshot, and the remainder of his game is developing. He may not be as flashy as EG, but he's a solid player who can definitely play in the BT.

If they don't want him at UIUC, I would welcome him to BU with open arms!

It is true that my screen name is taken from the year I graduated from WCHS.....which just happens to be Matt Roth's current school!

I've seen Matt play several times, and trust me.....he's the real deal. The coaches at UIUC think so too, or they wouldn't still be in contact with him.

Yes, BU has offered.

I'm sure there are other schools involved, but the ones I hear most often are BU, UIUC and Purdue.
