It may not but it sure couldn't hurt.
Players will feed off of a good, loud, supportive crowd. After the meltdown last night when ISU took a 5 pt. lead, the crowd actually started to rally and get behind the team. I think the crowd helped keep the Braves from folding altogether and made a difference in the outcome of that game."Losers find an excuse...winners find a way" - Joe Stowell

Yeah the crowd was quiet early...I saw this ONE couple on the BIG SCREEN.....ahhhh, nevermind, I'm sure they rallied during our comeback.

slow down game

The problem isn't talent with this group. It's something else. They are not a good closing team right now.

Interestingly enough the "What IF' game can work both ways....
What if the ISU player doesn't miraculously slip at the FT line last night on his way to the basket with 5 seconds left and he makes the shot or gets fouled and makes FT's for an ISU come from behind road win?
IMHO, what we would all like to see is some sort of progression from BU the rest of this season....better rebounding, better FT shooting, better execution on offense, better execution on defense, improvements in the skills of WE, AT, EM. A full 40 minute game every now and then would be nice as well.
I'm not going to 'hang my hat' on one or two wins in a row by BU.
BU finishing the MVC this year better than their recent past, say in the top 3, would go a long way for us Negative Nellies, Doubting Thomas's, Debbie Downers, 'Anti JL Agenda' Posters, 'Les Haters', 'Less Than Real' BU Fans, etc. to have some hope that JL is 'The Answer' (sorry AI) for BU MBB and that we can genuinely get excited about the program again and look optimistically at next year without being accused of being like "Cub Fans"

Is this the team coming out lethargic or is it a game plan by the coaching staff? The consistency is that it has happened every game for the last 3 or 4 games. Now I have.
This is Division 1 major college basketball. These student/athletes are getting a full ride on the backs of this university and need to understand that they are expected to act a certain way. They have a responsibility to this school. If they feel slighted or offended by some fans, then maybe it's time to grow up.
We can send an 18 to 21 year old off to Iraq or Afghanistan to die for our country but, heaven forbid, someone boo a 18 to 21 year old basketball player that it hurts his feelings so he lashes out with a "tweet." Gimme a break. Time to put things in perspective gentlemen.

My argument is not about booing at all. I really don't care about that one way or another.
I just think its odd that we blame fans for the losses.

Now I have.
1. Fans can sit and pout and do nothing = no help to the team
2. Fans can boo and moan and groan = a little help to the team. At least they show they care and are making some noise.
3. Fans can make some noise. Try to rally the team. Try to disrupt the visiting team. Try to create some resemblance of a home court advantage. Show that you haven't given up on the game or on them. I think this might help the team the most. I'm pretty sure it did last night.
I guess I chose #3."Losers find an excuse...winners find a way" - Joe Stowell

I know fans are important to how a team "feels" but I think there are limits as to what to expect out of fans. When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.
