What else is new...When students are gone 90% of the people that sit in those seats are as worthless as the 90 yr old people sitting at center court that fall asleep before halftime.

There were also a large contingent of SIU fans from Putnam County who were they to support Carlton Fay, and a few more from the Chicago area who were friends and family of some of the other SIU players (Tony Freeman, Kevin Dillard, Justin Bocot) and former players (Mike Mullins, father of Bryan Mulllins was behind the SIU bench).
Many of those people can't make it to Carbondale so easily.

Explain to me how Bradley University knows which team CAT employees are going to support? Maybe we should have ticket buyers sign a contract that they will only cheer for the home team. Really, we have Bradley fans that won't stand up and cheer for their own team, but don't seem to have a problem booing them.

Some teams do try to do this-
The game we played at UIC a couple seasons ago- I bought lower bowl tickets through their ticket office and charged them on a credit card. After I got off the phone with them and they went to put the charge through, they realized my address was a Peoria area address (I do not actually live in Peoria). They called me back and notified me that lower bowl tickets were only for the home team fans, and I was being reassigned to the upper bowl.
I have lost all respect for Jimmy Collins and his miserable program.

It took you that long to lose respect for the UIC program I do hate when schools do that. I also dislike when they charge more for "premium" opponents than the do "regular" opponents.

I hope Bradley never gets to this point and charges more for the ISU game.

Pardon my ignorance, but does UIC play on campus?

Monitoring who purchases seats would be a very challenging task for Bradley, since tickets are also sold by the Civic Center. And the PCC's goal is to put butts in the seats, regardless of what color they will wear or who they'll cheer for.

Yes the pavilion is an on-campus "arena".

Exactly, as if they KNOW you're a Bradley fan because you live in the area.

Exactly, which makes it even more ridiculous that someone would say "the university making a quick buck and not giving two sh*ts about the atmosphere while the students are gone."

                        Please!

So why not offer an upgrade to those season ticket holders in the upper bowl when the students are on break instead of throwing them to whomever walks up to the gate? The St Louis Cardinals do this, as I had the opportunity to pay an upgrade fee (slightly less than 50% of the difference between my season ticket seat and the upgrade seat) if 6 hours before a game the all-inclusive area's still had open seats, I simply had to call my account executive to inquire about it. Why not include those seats down by the baseline in a season ticket pack? Have your upper bowl tickets for all other games except the 3 or 4 when the students are gone. Then, the university can sell the upper bowl tickets to whomever they please, while still ensuring that we at least have bradley red behind the basket on our home floor.

This sounds like a more fair proposal, but the skeleton staff at Bradley that handles tickets simply doesn't have the manpower to try to rearrange hundreds of ticketholders' seats for just a few games, then turn around and try to sell the available ones on much shorter notice.
Also, the Bradley people do not have the sole control over ticket sales, because they are available at the Civic Center, and on Ticketmaster, there would probably be too much confusion trying to shuffle seats like this.

This is why we should implement this as a season ticket package to those who get upper bowl season tickets for upcoming seasons. This way, PCC and ticketmaster know exactly what seats will be filled prior to the break even beginning.
