Great post. Yes, they have to pick themselves up and not depend on others. That is correct, and that is life. Winning teams pick themselves up, whinning teams complain about the fans not picking them up.

Winning teams pick themselves up, but fans need to pick the team up as well whether they are winning or not.

I dont know where I am on this one. At some level I think fans need to be able to let the players know that blowing 10 point or more leads in 4 home games in a row is unacceptable. Though I wasn't there I think thats what happened tonight. But would cheering help pick a team up, and would that be more beneficial to the team? Probably. But its awfully tough for the players to expect fans to cheer wildly in the middle of what looks like what could be a 4th straight loss where BU had a big lead

I can understand booing out of frustration, but it still doesn't make it right to be booing at non-professional players, most of whom will not be going pro after their career ends here. Boo all you want at players who make 10 million dollars a year, but not college players.

And if TB said that on the postgame show, I don't blame him one bit. The object of going to a game is not only to watch, but to root the team on. Shame on these people who left early, or more importantly, the ones who consistantly tell the people in front of them to sit down! Amazing!

I didn't boo...and honestly I didn't hear much booing tonight...
But I don't have a problem with people doing it if they feel the need to voice their displeasure in some way...
These kids may not be professionals...but they are getting paid to play this game in the form of a free education at a fairly pricey private university...and they get a number of perks and special treatment that the thousands of other college students on campus would love to have...
These kids get cheered wildly when they perform well...they get plenty of positive support from the crowd and the community 99.99% of the time...If they get some negative feedback during the moments when their effort or performance is substandard, that's life...A momentary smattering of boos certainly doesn't mean that the crowd has turned their backs on you, that they've given up on you, etc. They are just voicing their displeasure at the way that things are going at that moment in time...these 'kids' aren't 8 year olds playing biddy basketball...they're young men about to enter the real world...time for them to toughen up and play on, IMO.

I know where I'm at with all this. If fans can boo, fans criticize these players then they have the right to b itch about you the fan on how you b itch about them. Get over it!

Personally, I think everyone should go to his twitter feed and re-tweet what he posted. If he's going to post stuff about the fans who are paying his way thru school, then the fans should re-tweet what he writes about us and spread the word.

I didn't boo any players but I also didn't stand up, jump up and down and scream wildly when the team was in the process of blowing a DOUBLE DIGIT LEAD FOR THE 4TH STRAIGHT GAME and probably would of lost again if the IN State player hadn't missed the wide open chip shot on another press turnover. Fans tried to get into it several times in the 2nd half but pretty much every time, INstate scored on the next possession almost every time. Tell me 1 place where 10,000 fans are going to jump up and scream wildly when the opponent is on a 25-10 run. The fans got up a couple times in this one when the team was down, but they aren't going to stay up when the opponent scores. THE D HAS TO SHUT EM DOWN FOR THE FANS TO STAY IN IT.

The players need to realize that college ball is semi-pro, a good majority of season ticket holders are paying $1,500 plus a season to see decent ball. They don't want to come and see a team blow 4 straight halftime leads, make careless turnovers, and atrocious D. If some want to boo, they can boo, this isn't high school where it costs a couple dollars a game. After all, the FANS are the ones giving the players a free ride. If a player wants to be selfish, he can be selfish and won't get my support.

No boos from my area and I didn't notice any at all tonight.

Only thing I heard was a guy a few rows back that would say, "ooooh sh!t, sh!t, sh!t" every time they would launch a three. It actually got to be pretty funny.

I'm not saying either side is right or wrong...the booers and the players need to realize that what each group does HAS an effect on the other. And that in the end everyone wants the players to succeed. Frustration just manifests itself differently for different people.

I also didn't really notice any boos. I know that they people around me didn't boo, but that didn't stop me from thinking here we go again. This team just really needs to lay a beat down on a team at Carver to prove that they can do it. I mean 4 games in a row of having a double digit lead only to see it disappear. Now give credit where credit is due too. Indiana St. shot a ridiculous percentage behind the arc in the 2nd half, but there has to be a way to stop that.

As far as Will's post goes, it doesn't bother me. He is frustrated like a lot of us are. I think he also took the posts down because I can't see them on there. The many media outlets these days can be a dangerous thing and sometimes people let emotions get the best of them and say things that they realize later that they maybe shouldn't have said. It's whatever in my book, but this team really does need to just blow somebody out of the water in Carver because they have the talent to do it, they just need to put together two solid halves.

On a separate note, I was glad to see that the students were allowed back in the student section for games. There may not have been many of us, but it felt like we put in the effort, whether it did any good or not.

I've got no problem with WE being upset about the fans leaving. I noticed a number of fans leaving with just a min. to go. I questioned myself why they would go then too. I just don't think it was the smartest thing to twitter about it so that others could see it!
Also WE and the team have to realize that paying customers have seen this act before and I can understand some people saying..."here we go again...weather is bad...I think we better get a head start"
I had my entire family there and I'll be honest the thought crossed my mind to leave early. However when the game got tighter I figured I could just throw the SUV into 4 wheel drive and take my time...cause I wasn't going to miss the ending!!
There was a very good size crowd that was standing and cheering the team on late in the game and into OT!!!

WINNING heals all wounds!

Would not be surprised IF there was something done in a form of some punishment for the twitter message!

IF there were boos they were not noticable on the video stream.

ISU Blue hit a wild amount of 3pt shots in the second half, but what I thought was equally glaring was their ability to get past our guards and get into the lane pretty much as much as they wanted. We got a huge call on the first charge by Marshall, Egolf moved in, but twice on drives Marshall blew by a guard and into the lane. If he pulls up or atleast doesnt have his head down we dont get two charge calls our way.

Ill give you that the ISU likely will not shoot 3s that well again this season but this is not the first time this season a team has gone wild making 3s, Luck or our inability to guard shooters?

Lastly the free throw shooting is just unacceptable. 20-34 is just terrble and there is absolutely no excuse for free throw shooting that poorly.

It is extremely concerning to blow huge leads, but realistically you get to line 34 times and only make 20 and on top of that play soft d on their shooters its not surprising another big lead evaporated. 59% from the free throw line is a joke.

Agree about the ft shooting...make our fts and we win this one in regulation! I don't like losing big leads, but as I said after the SIU game...this is D1 bball, every team makes a run in the 2nd half, usually in the first 10 mins. We have to learn how to focus out of half time and answer teams runs!
