JL is a great recruiter, just give Jim Les more time, BU went to the NCAAs in 2005, injuries/injuries/injuries, Jim Les needs time to learn to be a good coach, BU has had no practice facilities, JL is a nice guy, JL played in the pros, JL can/will recruit Chicago, BU has a great graduation rate, BU player troubles are normal and not as bad as other schools, NCAA violations were bogus, we don't want to start over again with a coach who isn't a BU guy, JL just needs more time, don't worry about no recruits signed last fall, the NCAA is out to get BU and its recruits, wait till next year, help is on the way, our players just need more experience, BU just needs better assistant coaches, W-L or titles aren't everything, anyone who doesn't think JL is the best thing for BU since Squeaky isn't a REAL BU FAN like the rest of us
Sorry Coach - There is more than one broken record on this Forum
Les is not going anywhere unless JG and/or the new AD change their minds. What good is this constant grumbling going to do to help the team get off the snide? As long Les is around the least we can do is give him the support he and his team needs. If this team tanks within the next year or two (by tanking, I mean 8th place type finishes), I'm sure the "higher powers" at Bradley will reevaluate the situation. But gettng rid of him mid-season will not do anyone any good. Period!
Let's give him our support, at least for the rest of this year and next. Les has done well the last few years. I'm sure he'll turn things around soon.
I still believe our trouble the last 3 years has been more to do with not having a serviceable 5! MS was really a 4 with not a lot of offensive finesse, DC played as soft as they come for a big and never materialized as a force, WE is really a 4 and is recovering from a major injury. If we had a decent 5 we would have the depth and players to compete with anyone in the Valley. Right now JL has to create a game plan that reduces the effect of that liability. SS was always a 5 minute guy. AT has really hurt us this year IMHO because he has not had the hunger to build himself up to the player he could become. Imagine if AT could hold his own in the paint defensively.
This would be a whole different team IMHO.

Good points. Hopefully Les can create a game plan that overcomes these liabilities. But the rest can't be pointed to the coach. If AT doesn't have the hunger, and WE still needs time to recover from his injury (he's doing very well considering, though!), well how much more can a coach do? We need some luck, time and a little soul searching from a few players. Then I think we can turn the corner.
...can we make sure that either SFP, Braves4Life, or Flipper post every third entry in every thread. I think everyone would be a heckuva lot more cheery if those guys posted more often.
I know I enjoy it...softens the blow of BU basketball.

I don't know about you...but the word 'softens' never, ever comes to my mind when I'm looking at the 'visual content in one of their posts'...
He should have said: "I envision perenial 4th-7th place finishes with the hope that someone will start new post-season tourneys so I can pad my record and make things will appear better than they are... kind of like like putting new wheels on an old 70's AMC Gremlin--The shine will blind them."
I'm curious if we'll use the wins in Brazil to claim another 21-win season.

I wouldn't know, I have turned the avatars off...
I use Bradley basketball to soften the blow of other people's avatars...
