That Will Egolf may have played the best all around game of his young career? And that Jake Eastman shows flashes of a guard who can do more than just spot-up shoot? And that Andrew Warren shot the ball with great confidence in back-to-back games for the first time since he returned from injury?

Amid all the hand-wringing there are some nice pieces to the puzzle here. We just have to figure out how to close down the stretch.

p.s. this team needs a cocky, self assured shooter who will be loose when the opponent is making a late game run.

All good points...but shooting the ball wasn't the problem. In three possesions we couldn't get the ball past halfcourt.

    Danny Ruffin where are you....

Egolf played good but it doesn't help that Maniscalco gets worse every single game, and probably single-handily lost it for us in the last 2 minutes. The Warren throw away was to a clueless Maniscalco and we can't forget the traveling call with no one around him.

I dont post much but i completely agree.... I mean looking at the numbers, this was a hell of a game for our guys... Egolf had a double double, warren with 24 and taylor brown with 25???! I mean come on... they played a whale of a game... yes there was the melt down... but it happens... especially when two of your top 7 or 8 are injured.... your players get tired and run out of juice..... LOOK I am still excited for this team, I mean your not gonna win every game... Look at Marquette, just got knocked off down the stretch at home by NOVA. All I am saying is that yes this is a trend, but how many games do you score 81 points and lose? If we keep up that produtcion, we will win, and i dont think there is much doubt about that. Just stay positive, and positive things will happen. This was the best game we played since Illinois, and we lost, it happens. The other two home loses were unacceptable, but honestly ill take this one. Dont blame anyone except for SIU for the loss.

You're kidding, right? We've only played two games BUFAN. Let's give it a few more games before we throw in the towel.

Yes, their was several positive things developing the last 2 games. They have been excellent on the FT's, Warren & Brown have been lights out, Egolf has been getting better except for his FT's and the rebounding has been getting slightly better. The problem has been the bench rotations by Les and some shoddy D. This late in the season though, i'm not sure they can correct it in time before they are to far in the hole.
