Let's kick this off with the only obvious and agreeable point.
Everyone here IS a Bradley Basketball fan. Everyone wants Bradley to win.
I think everyone agrees on those facts.
However, we also obviously all have different beliefs about how to go about winning games. It might be style of play, coaching, recruiting, whatever. That's fine too. It's good to have different view points and ideas about the program.
I think the worst thing we could do is start name-calling and bashing one another. I am personally sick of the "True Fan" garbage. I don't care how many games you go to, how much you donate, or IF you are buddies with the coaches or staff. None of that makes someone a fan, IMO.
I know more than a few people who like BU and cheer for them to do well. However, they don't have the $$$$$ or time to go to every game and donate. That doesn't make them less of a fan than me or you.
I have been going to BU games for over 25 years. I sat in endzone seats when BU went 32-3, saw Hawk kill every team in the league and break every record, saw Mo throw out the thugs and rejects and rebuild a wrecked program, and was in Detroit to watch BU go to the Sweet 16.
I also saw BU get banned from postseason play, sat in empty games while Albeck implode the program, watched Mo mire BU in mediocrity, and now watch Jim play middle-of-the-pack ball.
Good, bad, and ugly. But I have always been there. Win or lose. I graduated from Bradley, just like 5 of my siblings. My father put in 20 years at BU. I worked there for almost 10 years myself before, during, and after I was in school. I am about as Bradley as you can be.
But this isn't about what I have done or what someone else has done or hasn't done.
It's all about what we all should want......
I WANT BRADLEY TO BE BETTER THAN AVERAGE.
I cannot sit year after year and watch the same result. I want more than this.
Whether Jimmy goes or stays is not up to me. Honestly, I pulled for him all the way. I defended his hiring and sung his praises to anyone I could. Anyone on PJStar knows that. I defended the process which brought him here and begged people to give him time to learn. But at some point there has to be light at the end of the tunnel.
My bottom line is this: I don't see any improvement. I don't see stability. I don't see the signs of this turning out successful. It ticks me off to say it too.
If this makes me anti-BU, well then that's really too bad.
I WANT BRADLEY TO BE BETTER THAN AVERAGE.
