Some random thoughts...
BU has absolutely NO home court advantage. No visiting team is intimidated by our crowd. Our crowd does not "help" BU win.
10,000 people in the seats is great but it doesn't make a d**m bit of difference if all we do is sit on our hands. It seems people get embarrassed if they yell or stand up and cheer on the team. Somebody might point at them and say things...If they do stand up there are 15 other people to tell them to sit down....
Everything at the game is sponsored. It's the PJstar.com starting line-ups, the Buffalo Wild Wings time out, the get a free massage time out, and even the Prairie Home Alliance fight song time out....every stoppage in play results in Paul Herzog doing a commercial for something...Our games are so "scripted" it's like watching the same movie over and over...
I am also spoiled by the fieldhouse days. For those of you that never experienced the Fieldhouse or thought last nights crowd was good...you have absolutely no idea....Their were many games BU had no business winning or even being close. The crowd....minus the people in the chair seats...absolutely willed the Braves to victory by being so loud that you couldn't hear yourself think. The Braves fed off the crowds never ending energy. The visiting team FEARED coming to the fieldhouse. Many nights I left games with no voice left and feeling as drained as if I actually played in the game. The fans were involved. The fans "helped" win games."Losers find an excuse...winners find a way" - Joe Stowell

Great description of The Fieldhouse Experience ChuckyT. There was nothing more exciting than when you showed up slightly late for a game and could hear the roar of the Fieldhouse from a block away. I remember going from a walk to a run on more than a few occasions to get to the game. I also remember turning back to get re-admittance when leaving early after hearing a few too many consecutive roars from a game I thought was already over
