Even though we had a discussion about the Drake game and some of the bad charging calls, most of what bothered me was
the lack of offensive, high screen fouls called when I thought they should be called on Drake.
For some really ODD reason, in a reversal of a years-long trend, the fouls weren't being called!
I kinda thought Drake was getting away with a lot!!
So I checked to see how the foul calls were in the five Valley games played so far....and I know it's early, but the numbers are pretty impressive.
In all five Valley games Tuesday, there were a grand total of 157 fouls called.
That's 15.7 fouls per game and 31.4 fouls on both teams per game.
It's only ONE game each, but it's way, way less that what every Valley team was averaging on their others games so far!
Was this a fluke or is this what we are going to see in the Valley this season?
