I'm starting to wonder if Illinois is not all that they are cracked up to be. But then again, there is plenty of time for them to mount a comeback as they did at Clemson.
Oh who cares. I'm still glad we beat them, no matter what our records turn out to be!
Well, Illinois passes its first test of the season and Northwestern needs to hold serve at home. This should be a dandy of a race in the Big Ten.
Maybe Illinois does not get style points, but they got the job done. Of course since I live only about 15 miles west of Evanston, I consider Northwestern one of my local teams even though I have no affiliation with Northwestern. So I will root them on to an NCAA Tournament bid, hopefully though not at the expense of Bradley!
wow- Illinois overcame the hot shooting of Northwestern in the 1st half from 3-pt, but in the end Northwestern was 17-46 from 3-pt...
3 NW players play over 40 min...Thompson plays all 45....they are not going to last the long Big Ten season playing basically just 5 or 6 guys...
Illinois' Mike Davis had 20 pts, 17 rebs, and Tisdale ended with 31 pts. on just 14 FG attempts...
John Shurna had 27 but it took him 23 FG attempts.
BTW, Missouri State's loss at Arkansas now looks a little weaker, as Arkansas tonight hosted Baylor and got spanked 70-47
