I know it's used by at one Division 1 school- but since it's just for a mascot and not a nickname, I like a Beaver.

It can be cute and ferocious. It would sell well. I am not sure it would be so appropriate for the womens' teams.

But here is my pick- a Rabbit or a Jackrabbit. It's fast and can jump, so it's fitting for sports teams of both sexes.

I just received an email back from Dr. Mitch Griffin, the chairman of the mascot selection committee.

I had emailed a suggestion to his personal email address at Bradley-- mg@bradley.edu .

Since the other published email address
bravesmascot@bradley.edu

is not yet working. He is OK with people sending suggestions to him directly.

Keep up the great suggestions.

I think (as already suggested) a diesel engine would be a great mascot.

Unique, related to the area, and should be completely inoffensive to American Indians. Plus, I think the entertainment value of a guy dressed up as a diesel engine could be very very good.

I have always thought that a great mascot idea would be to use the gargoyles from Bradley Hall. It would allow for a mascot that truly had a connection to the university that all would recognize rather than something ???‚¬?“made up.???‚¬?? It would also give us an opportunity to do some branding with a new logo and much needed merchandising opportunities. The clothing and team gear that is available around town, at pre season events in the Fieldhouse (Red/White, etc.) and especially at home basketball games is sorely lacking. A new logo with a licensed merchandiser would help greatly with the type of team gear that is available to the fans who are eager to spend money on cool new ???‚¬?“Bradley Stuff.???‚¬??
