Hawks are fine, except that storm, eagles, and hawks are the most common reverted to mascots/team names when forced to change.

      I'd prefer to be original.

But my prediction is a mastadon, announced on May 25, 2007, one week before the start of the U.'s next fiscal year.

I know it Doesn't rule out Mastadons, but the new Mid Con member, IPFW are also the Mastadons.
        So maybe Wooly Mammoths instead.

Perhaps along those lines, but maybe more of a guy similar to the Purdue Boilermaker mascot. He could be like a factory worker or something.

Or perhaps some sort of military-type character, either from the colonial times or even modern day. They epitomize bravery.

A bull might not be bad also. It could be representative of the many angus farmers in the area, easily tie into the Lariat Club's steak deal for Braves Club members, and open up an easy marketing campaign with Red Bull energy drinks. We've already seen how marketable a red bull can be (in more ways than one).

I was gonna say something similar....

How about the Bradley Bombers. As in like the B1 or B2 Bombers.

Just like we have had a Hawk(ins), we have had the Brimfield Bomber in Eddie Mathews.

For the "diesel" I had an idea of a guy in a sort of superhero looking suit, but with a big foam diesel engine portruding from the front and back of his torso. Would offer some hilarious antics I would think, and be very unique-- maybe too crazy though...

I also really like the idea of a military themed one... maybe something that directly references our local air guard transport wing...

I vote to for Bradley to have no mascot, or Mascot Les. I think most mascots are stupid looking. ( examples: Witchita wheatshockers, the blue fox for Indiana State Sycamores, the Southern Illinois Salukis.) If we must have one, I think the bull or bison is the least objectionale.

This is a newer trend, and some schools have done just that,
choose a nickname like "Big Red" or "Red Rage" and then they avoid
                      offending people.

Cornell Big Red, mascot a bear

                      mascot:

                      St. Johns Red Storm, mascot-none
The official athletics website for the St. John's University Red Storm

Bison are prevalent at Wildlife Prairie Park, and are native to the area. That's a good one as well.

I also like Dave Snell's idea of some sort of eagle, in tune with the "Land of the free, and home of the BRAVES!"

Bradley's search for a mascot will be on the newswires soon,
                          here is one story

Maybe some good suggestions will come from other places.

I don't know T, the article quotes M Griffin for saying he/they want it to be constituency driven. In this situation, the best description for constituency would be 'a group or body that patronizes, supports, or offers representation'.

Suppose they could field all suggestions, but take Bradley's constituencies more seriously.

Another thing from this article says... "suggestions should play off Bradley's Braves nickname without using American Indian imagery and should be 'visually aggressive but not frightening'."

How does that apply to our list of wonderful suggestions here?

I like the Bradley Blaze because it rhymes with the old one and fire is cool.

I also like the Bradley Blitz. I'll go with Blaze for this contest though.
