  • Dick Versace loves coaches with no experience

Vinny Del Negro is the only coach I can recall being hired with less experience at the time of the hiring than our own Jim Les. Dick Versace is an outspoken fan of Jim Les. While Dick Versace is my favorite BU coach of all time, I think he's losing touch with the game. Per the Tribune -

Overheard: Former Pacers and Bradley coach Dick Versace likes what he sees in Del Negro: "The fact that the Bulls are in the top 10 in the league in field goal percentage defense tells me that his players are playing hard for him."

I guess Dick didn't read this quote from Derrick Rose after a recent loss to Atlanta -

“Either you want it or you don’t,” Rose said. “I don’t care what plays you run. It’s about hustle. If you want it, defend people and rebound.”

    Do the Bulls want it?

“It speaks for itself,” Rose said. “We’re just not playing hard.”

How do you take the following content:

and objectively turn it into a thread title of:

It was a bit tongue-in-cheek because of DV's obvious support of Jim Les, who was hired with no previous coaching experience. VDN is the only person I can think of who was hired with less coaching experience than Jim had, and DV's comment about them playing hard for VDN shows he clearly hasn't watched the Bulls play, nor has he read the comments by Bulls players, who more or less admitted that they've been mailing it in. I apologize for my poor attempt at humor.

So I can call off DV's attack dogs?

Yes, please have mercy on me! As I said DV is my favorite BU coach of all-time, but watching Vinny coach the Bulls is like watching Michael Scott run the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin - It's one comedic disaster after another.
