  • Beaten Teams' Combined Records

This came up in another thread, so I thought I'd look at each Valley team. These are the combined records of the Division I teams each Valley team has beaten coming into today.

    Indiana State_____23-21___.523
    Northern Iowa_____32-33___.492
    Missouri State____31-41___.431
    Bradley___________15-31___.326
    Creighton_________12-25___.324
    Drake_____________12-31___.279
    illinois state____16-43___.271
    Wichita State_____15-57___.208
    Evansville_________7-30___.189
    Southern Illinois__4-27___.129

Not very impressive to say the least, which is why I don't understand why people are saying things like "we'll be playing on Thursday/we have no chance in the Valley/JL only gets one more year/time to find a new sport to watch". Don't look now, but the entire MVC doesn't look too strong! Of course, even if we manage to finish top 3 it'll be because of that very fact and the Bradley program probably won't get much credit.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

I think the last statement is the real point. This team doesn't look like it will be going beyond St Louis (or a fake tourney like the last 2 years). I don't want to see a bad team beat or get beat by another bad team. Yes, the season is very early, but Bradley doesn't look good enough for me to devote 3 hours of a day to watching bad, boring basketball. We haven't finished above 4th or won the tourney with JL. This team doesn't look like it will break the streak. Really, what good would it be to finish 3-6 in a bad conference?

I have said recently (although it got deleted...) that I don't think JL's job is safe with bad losses at home and a new AD. But that's for a different thread.
JL are not respunsible foor the string of injunrys....

How many of those teams have lost 2 home games already?
