Congratulations Coach Les. I know this is just one guy's opinion, but
Jim Les' name was mentioned in regards to the NC State coaching search and a couple others, and is now mentioned here.
I personally think Jim will stay at Bradley, but this article does point out the reason most coaches make the move is because of the money.

interesting that he took altman off the list because his pay of $700,000 and attendance of 13,900 per game is as good as many of the bcs schools. wonder what we need to do to make bu to les as creighton is to altman?

But the big story, is that all the constant the letters to the PJS, the posts on message boards, and the idle chatter by folks who have to find something to talk about has all quickly swung from calling for Les' outster as coach, to wondering if he might jump to a bigger program if offered.
This has been an amazing turnaround.

My question--
Has he just suddenly become a better coach, or was he a good coach all along and the critics were flat-out uninformed and premature in their criticism, including certain writers for the local Peoria newspaper?

Most of the great coaches struggled in their early years -- what with trying to juggle recruiting, keeping kids eligible, planning for the future, staff hiring and re-hiring, alumni obligations and pressures (hint: bickering; followed by as%-kissing), and learning and refining their own coaching and teaching skills.

I predict JL will continue to get better as a coach and hope that his loyalty to his alma mater (and his kids being in school) keep him here for a long time.

All I ask is this: run a clean program, recruit quality student-athletes that won't make us look bad, and be a consistent top-tier (top 3-5) Valley program. If JL runs a program like Coach Stowell did I'll be happy!

What does this guy know? He thinks (if I read it right) that Cellus was a bigger loss than POB. When a sports columnist or a so-called expert makes such a stupid statement it is hard to read the rest of the story, let alone believe it. To use a quote from my favorite radio sports show on 670 the Score, "Gary, who you crappin?"

George, I used the term "expert" somewhat tongue in cheek, as I agree with you that some of these writers just say what they have to to keep their jobs and sell the story.
