The kid just wasn't ever given a chance to be our PG...
Starts to make you wonder about the talent evaluating as well as the sub patterns and other failures in the coaching...

Maybe we should take a look back and see what was said about Eddren Mccain last year on this board???Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

I remember some people on here stating that EM was a "BCS" type player at the end of last season and talking about how he had a tendency towards getting a big rebound!!! I don't recall too many people wanting to bench EM last year.Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

From the last couple of games, EM is the best ballhandler we have at guard as well as our best defender of our guards! EM was also more in control of the situation last night... granted he lacks an outside shot.
IMO SM is still our clutch player... Granted EM has had a rough start this year, but I see signs of his game coming around... I still believe that EM has more upside than Norris.Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

I loved Norris' game, he was like a smaller version of DSE imo, good nose for the passing lanes, got steals, could hit the outside shot and could drive to the basket. I think he was more of a shoot first pg, kind of like Dillard, and JL liked EM's distribution and rebounding better. I think given the chance, Norris could have outplayed EM, as him really seemed to be a "gamer"

I'm not sure if SM has dropped off a step due to his injuries or if he just doesn't have the quickness and penetrating abilities of a good PG. EM is our best choice for becoming a quick, penetrating, and dishing PG, IMO. Now, if he can just begin hitting that outside shot every once in awhile to keep defenses honest.......
