This year, the strength of the team(in my opinion) is still the guards, but they are a different type of guard than the ones mentioned above. (especially with Dodie Out) I think that CR and AW and TB would all benefit more in a quick hitter type of offense, rather than the motion that we currently run. Get AW running off staggered screens, and CR and TB coming of curl screens at the foul line more where they can get to the bucket and use their athleticism/draw fouls. It just seems like we are not executing the motion offense well at all, and our best players (AW, TB, and CR) get lost in it.
IDK, just my rant and opinion after a couple of tough losses.
I nominate this for post of the day. This section pretty well hit on everything I have been thinking for the last 2-3 years.
I also agree that this team would be better with an offense that utilizes curls to the free throw line and to the lane for Chris, Andrew, Taylor, and Will....
To your last point, our best strengths do not get utilized at all in this offense as its more for high percentage 3-pt shooters and not for mid range game.
Also, does anyone notice how very little screening is done in this offense?
We have our Center 30' from the basket and he is typically the only screener on the floor.
If you have a few minutes to your day, watch a Butler game and you'll notice how much different the style of play is with players similiar to those on Bradley (minus Hayward - we don't have anyone comparable to him). At times, they will set 8-10 screens just in one possession with all of the stagger screens, double screens, and backdoor pick screens.
Just a much more well designed offense that is implemented for the players they have.
My main point is, you must adapt to who you have on your roster and what their strengths are as individuals AND as a unit.
You can not make them adapt to a system that they just can not run, AND that is a lot of why we are where we are at this point.
Scrap the motion, go with a flex set or a 1-4 stack set...they will work much better with this current group of talent.

The current I have had many interactions with and he is a really great guy, but the word "salesman" does come to mind as right now, he's not exactly doing what I had hoped he would and he isn't the coach I thought he might be.
But the reason I did it is that I was told awhile back that more posts are kept on here if you don't use names flat out and just assume people know who you're talking about.

I would much rather be writing about wiping the floor with the opponent or how great of a job we have done, but IMHO, we still have yet to play a full 40, even against Illinois.

[QUOTE=SaintLouBrave22;152645]I agree about both statements...not sure about the Merf one.
Sadly the previous coach couldn't win on the road, BUT he rarely ever lost at home.
IF you are talking about MO...I beleive he has a better road record then JL.

Not a good trend. Hopefully we will rebound from this disaster and have a good conference season.

The key for Sam is that he does have a body and at times does know how to use it. While he was in, their big boy was kept out of the 3' area.???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Has anyone noticed that we've had double digit leads in EVERY home game, yet have blown every single one of them based on poor coaching and substitution patterns...
And now that we don't have any semblance of a PG and really no inside game whatsoever because of lack of touches, toughness, and the fact that we play small every chance we can get...
This team has ZERO chance to do anything this year unless wholesale changes are made...
Unfortunately, I don't see a way to fix the PG situation...
BUT we could fix many things by not continuing this ridiculous notion of playing so many guards at once...
Heck, I'd almost be willing to have Chris Roberts bring the ball up simply to show the other two players that if they want to play, then they better get it together.
My lineup for Sunday and this by lack of players and default really:
-Singh
-Brown
-Knezevic
-Warren
-Roberts
Oh, and can I ask what the purpose of removing a redshirt from a player is if you don't plan on playing him?
I'm not 100% certain, but I don't think Jake comes in and kicks the ball around like our two supposed leaders.
The real problem lies at the top though as he has guaranteed spots in the starting lineup (we know who they are) and has favorites, and more importantly, is way too stubborn to change his extremely flawed and failed system.
Western Carolina was just the beginning and losing to Loyola should never happen, let alone on your home floor after being up 12.
Its going to be a long season and a very long next 3 years if he doesn't look in the mirror and realize that the changes begin and end with him.

I know no one on here likes excuses but the following items I feel are all true.
P.O.B.'s early departure was a major blow to the program. With him staying there would have been championships and N.C.A.A. appearances. Since 06 injuries have been devastating to use.
If you don't agree state why just don't say you don't like to use excuses.
