There are rumours on the Illinois board that a former state of Illinois point guard is unhappy and looking to transfer. The main guesses are Chris Colvin or Darius Smith. I see Darius is getting just over 5 minutes a game. I wonder if he would consider us if he is the one looking.

I saw that discussion, but until a name actually is made publilc, I guess all we can do is speculate...
Maybe Darius Smith is the top name, but lots of players have bolted at Iowa State so Colvin is a poss. also.
Neither are getting much chance, but then they're both freshmen...I'd take either and both were pursued by BU.
But one other possibility is DJ Cooper, who plays for Ohio, the team ISU is playing tonight.
DJ is having a tremendous season thus far...12 ppg, 5.4 rpg, almost 5 apg, 3 steals, and an A/T ratio of 2:1 --
...all pretty good numbers for a freshman PG......
I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he's maybe already getting some Ritchie McKay/Duane Broussard-like calls and text messages
telling him hello and wishing him happy birthday, if you know what I mean... -
I think a point guard transfering to U of I makes no sense for the player or llinois. But I'll take one here.Comment
