FWIW, here are the most productive freshmen in the MVC:

    Dyricus Simms-Edwards (BU) 16.8 mpg, 4.6 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.5 apg, 40% on 3-pointers
    Milos Knezevic (BU)...............6.3 mpg, 1.6 ppg, 1 rpg, 30% on 3-pointers
    Ethan Wragge (CU).............13.3 mpg, 7.9 mpg, 2.4 rpg, 0.6 apg, 47% on 3-pointers
    Andrew Bock (CU) ..............11.0 mpg, 2.9 ppg, 0.9 rpg, 1.0 apg, 0-5 on 3-pointers
    Ben Simons (DU).................27.6 mpg, 10.7 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 1.8 apg, 19-52 on 3-pointers

    Ned Cox (UE).....................21 mpg, 6.4 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 2 apg, 6-17 from 3-pt
Jackie Carmichael (ISU) ......14.8 mpg, 6.5 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 0 asst
    Terry Johnson (ISU) ............9.8 mpg, 3.5 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 0.6 apg, 1-10 on 3-pointers
    Justin Clark (ISU)...............12.7 mpg, 1.1 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 1 apg, 2-17 on 3-pointers, 3-23 overall (13%)
(InSU has no freshman playing any significant minutes)
Keith Pickens (MSU)............17.2 mpg, 5.0 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 0.7 apg
Michael Porter (MSU)...........12.2 mpg, 4.6 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 0.8 apg
Marc Sonnen (UNI)..............10.1 mpg, 1.9 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 0.3 apg

It seems like if you are going to include Milos Knezevic, Terry Johnson, Marc Sonnen, and Kenny Manigault in the "Most Productive Freshmen" category, then you should probably consider a few others as well.

    Jermaine Mallett (MSU)..........26.3 mpg, 7.7 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.9 apg, started 9 of 9, 43.2% 3's
Troy Taylor (UE)..................22.9 mpg, 4.0 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 2.4 apg
Aaron Hawley (DU)...............14.8 mpg, 5.8 ppg, 2.3 rpg
Koang Dolouny (InSU)...........12.9 mpg, 3.2 ppg, 1.6 rpg

If I had to rank the top ten most productive freshmen in the valley so far, it would probably look like this.

    Colt Ryan
    Ben Simons
    Jermaine Mallett
    Seth VanDeest
    Ned Cox
    Ethan Wragge
    Kendal Brown-Surles
    Troy Taylor
    Jackie Carmichael
    Dyricus Simms-Edwards
This is just the tip of the iceberg...

Just Noticed Mallett was a Jr. Disregard that. He's listed as a Freshman on the Yahoo sports site.

Carmichael is a man. He has the body of a junior/senior. The Birds have a good one there.

I tried to list only those who were getting at least double digit minutes or at least 3-4 ppg...
but included a few who even tho lower in production, had gotten a lot of pre-season talk...so they may yet have potential.

First time poster long time creeper. Carmichael has impressed every ISU you fan to the point of wondering maybe how we ended up with this guy. Im not trying to just talk up our best freshman to stir the pot just simply saying. Many are crying for him to play more minutes. Simms-Edwards appears to be a great get for the braves. I personally was disappointed he didnt end up at ISU. I think he might have been hoping for an offer from a bigger conference and when he didnt get one he liked Bradley was there with open arms. One of those kids I think just knows how to play the game and sometimes that doesnt show up on tapes that might have lead people to be a little hesitant of him.

I agree, just from watching him a couple times and looking at his numbers, that Carmichael is the real deal!
