Nice to see ISU lose and Niagra (with a hometown boy on the coaching staff) get a Win...

Sounds like "King O" was a no-show today.

Oh well. Some things never change!
You forgot to mention that the mighty undefeated redbirds missed this opportunity while their opponent was playing without their best player!

You didn't think that was an NBA-worthy performance?

Proof positive that RPI means nothing at this point in the season. ORU has wins over Missouri and at Stanford.

But the ISU loss is also PROOF POSITIVE that the RPI is usually relevant and predictive...
as we knew all along that ISU was really a 150 RPI team, exactly where the formula for RPI put them, despite their pretty 7-0 record that had even some of the Top 25 voters fooled.

also it's just possible maybe OE was not feeling well...he might have had an off game..

I'll take Kansas by 20+ over Kansas State, St. John's, Washington, Western Carolina, VCU, and William & Mary. All those teams are ahead of them in the RPI. In fact, I'd take Kansas by double digits against all but a couple of the 20 teams ahead of them.

That's all I'll say about the RPI until February, at which point it will be much more realistic. For now, Sagarin and Pomeroy are far more accurate and predictive.

Watched the game yesterday, between switching back and forth for the Bears game, and ISU played well the first half as they pounded the ball inside. In the second half they went back to settling for poor three point shots. They simply got lazy. O seemed to be sleeping during most of the game. He had sloppy fouls and was very sluggish on D. Niagara made some half time adjustments and packed everything in the lane. They dared ISU to shoot over them and we all know how that worked...

They play like this come Valley time and you can drop them from the list of contenders.

Tough to complain about 6,000 considering school was out and the Bears were on against their rivals. Some here have a fetish with attendance. Give me 1000 loud, screaming hardcore fans over 5000 just coming in to watch the game any day. And I thought we were working on a tv deal up in Chicago. ISU has a decent deal with Comcast. At least 11 games on the tube, not counting the ESPN games. We should be able to get something.

but you don't have to pay the bills and make the Civic Center folks happy...
I have a slight suspicion that the only people who matter would prefer the 5000

Yeah...might as well move the games to the new on-campus arena, but then there would be complaints of no alcohol sales and inability to get tickets to the games. I think I'll take the Civic Center at this point.

I guarantee you the people in the Athletic Department would rather have the higher numbers. Size of the crowd usually does correlate with the noise and excitement. I have not seen many crowds of 1000-2000 that made much noise in such a large arena.

And maybe you missed it, but Bradley does have just as good a deal with Comcast. Every game that Comcast televises will air on Comcast in Chicago LIVE on channel 102.
PEORIA, Ill. -- No fewer than 16 Bradley University men's basketball games will be televised during the upcoming 2009-10 season, including at least 10 of the team's 14 games played away from home, according to an announcement from the school this afternoon.

There are 9 games currently scheduled to air on Comcast Spotlight, and simultaneously in Chicago, starting with the 12/20 game at Iowa State, plus 8 MVC conference games.-

Crap, I did miss that. Thanks. It's just hard to get down sometimes so this is definitely a good thing. Can't hurt recruiting either.

How is that possible?..earlier in the season when referring to his wrist injury he said the "nothing will keep me from feeding my family."
