I was just sitting here thinking that since DD is coming back next year, doesn't this put JE in the same situation as this year for next year ? Playing time ? With DD, AW, SM, EM, DSE coming back and not including any possible guard recruit's BU may bring in for next year, JE may get a limited amount of minutes next season, less than he may have expected. I understand BU will be losing 3 senior guards after next season but I think JE was thinking he would have had some of DD's minutes next year. This is a good situation for BU next season being very deep with good guards but still, JE may get only 5 minutes per game instead of 10 - 15 minutes per game next season. I'm just saying JE has to know his playing time may be less than he expected for next season with DD coming back.

CR will be gone after this year, which will open up some time for JE. His time will come, he just needs to remain patient. AW, DD, and SM are all gone after next year, so starting with his sophomore year it will be JE's playing time to lose.

I'm hoping CR's minutes will be used up by a 6'-9" player we have our eyes on for next season. You are right though about JE having to have patience, that his time will come even if it's a year later than he may have expected.

We do run a system that is tailored made for his style. If all indications are correct he is a JC type player.

Jake's redshirt was more about giving him an extra year to get stronger and adjust to the college game. We really don't have another player like him, so I don't see DD's redshirt will affect him much.

He also stated that he knows that the redshirt is geared towards those 4th and especially the 5th year in the program, where as a more mature, older player he will be especially valuable to the program, which shows great maturity, and leads me to believe that any dissatisfaction with potentially reduced time on the court next year will not adversely affect his attitude.

If JE is the shooter we have been told he is (on the lines of AZ & JC), plus the hustle he showed in the only pre-season game, it will be hard to keep a bulkier version of him out of the line-up. The cream always rises to the top & I'm betting he'll force JL to find playing time for him.

I agree with you. Why would we automatically slot in another guard for CR spot? Apparently the JL 3 guard metality had gotten into people's minds too much. Let's make other teams match our size.

I have watched Jake warmup before the games, he is not yet close to being the shooter JC was so I don"t know why these comparisons are being made.

As a freshman JC was an accurate shooter, but unorthodox (almost a push shot in front of his face). Btwn Frosh & Soph JC changed his shooting style & suffered through his Soph year because of it. Thereafter, JC was able to combine his shooting eye with a higher release point/quicker shot and had a fantastic JR year. Only when Ruff went down in JC's senior year did he start to really put together all phases of his offensive game and make guys pay for playing him tight on the perimeter by driving past them & finishing at the basket.

I have watched the same warm-ups and one game from JE as you and I think that the kid has some similar skills. Most the comparisons I've seen have had to do with them both being about the same size. I'd put JE's shooting eye somewhere between JC & DA but he already has a solid release point. More than any other similarity to JC I see is a good b-ball IQ (going by the one interview, his HS youtube vids & his lineage) along with a desire to succeed and an understanding that the game is as much about hard work as anything else.

I predict Eastman will lead the league in 3-pt FG's, will average 15+ ppg, and be All-MVC by his senior year..... JMO

Can we have 2 All-MVC players on one team? (See Jordan Prosser)

Comparisons... why? I will be not "politically correct" so if you are going to be offened by a non-PC comment stop reading now. First, they are both about the same size, and secondly they are both white. If he was not white, no comparisons would even be brought up. Let's all live in reality.

Disagree... I have seen JE during warmups and he looks to be a very good shooter.
