  • DePaul Clobbered by 31

    Mississippi State 76 - DePaul 45

Walker and Wallace took 37 shots (made only 12 - so you wonder why did they keep shooting and shooting?),
and the entire rest of the team was only 6-27!!

    Wow.

    Depaul? Seriously... DePaul???

I thought the question last week was if Miss St was fer real?

Miss St beat St Bonnies 105-53 (who ISU "kept in the game" and "didn't put them away" while only beating them 80-77).

Miss St also beat ODU by 14 in the S Padre Tourney.

But Miss St did drop a game in S Padre to Richmond by 1 and also lost at home to Rider by 14.

(Rider? Heck - even the Butler/Gonzaga/Xavier's of the world don't lose at home to someone like Rider)

Losing to Richmond is fine. Losing to Rider isn't.

MSU will win the SEC West.

The real lesson here is that DePaul is who we thought they were. Probably better, though, actually, but it's a bottom-4 BE team.

This game was painful to watch. Seems Wainwright is doing what he does best - terribad basketball.

When the coaching staff at DePaul gets fired I would"t mind if BU checked into getting D.Booth as an asst. coach, make for a good recruiter in Chicago.

Booth, along with the other two new assistants Tracy Webster and Billy Garrett, were hired by the DePaul folks over Wainwright's objecitons....
Wainwright's assistants were all dismissed and they went out and got the new guys in preparation that perhaps one of them might show head coaching potential...

Don't look for Booth, Webster, or Garrett to leave if and WHEN Wainwright is booted.
Anyway, of all the three guys, why would you want Booth? He is the one with the least Chicago area background and influence....both Garrett and Webster are strongly connected with Chi-town.

It might be fair to point out that DePaul did not have their best player on the floor last night. The foot injury to Koswhal will keep him on the bench for a bit. That said, DePaul still would have been whacked and Wainwright is worthless. Why they kept him a HUGE mystery.

Bradley has had entire seasons without their best player, yet still gets ripped for single digit losses...
How bad would it be if BU started losing this bad?

Because Booth also has ties to Peoria, Webster would be another one I would be interested in.

I'm confident we have a coaching staff far better than what DePaul currently has to put up with. Wainwright looked pathetic last night, as did DePaul. What Wainwright did last year to his asst. coaches was nothing short of disgusting. He threw them all under a CTA bus and stayed when everyone wanted him out. He should have taken the buyout they offered him and left with some dignity and class, he chose not to. Keeping him for one more season should cost Ponsetto her job also. It has been one bad hire after another.

                    What would Dick do?

Losing by 1 or 30 all counts the same to me...loss. There's no quality loss

Agreed.... and SOMETIMES the 30 point losses are easier to take. Still a loss though and injuries or not its all about the W or L. Period.

But I understand how BU losing by 1 vs 30 is a way of showing how we were close to winning so we aren't as bad as a team losing by 30 yet its still not a win so its average/mediocre WHICH is exactly what BU is turning into and many are "settling" for.

Agreed - Bradley beating Presbyterian by 13 is the same as UIUC beating Presbyterian by 36.

And all fans for both teams know it is the same and brag about them the same and respect them as equal wins.
