  • Illinois beats a top 25 team for the second time in a week!

Illinois takes out Kevin Stalling's #24 Vanderbilt team 79-68 tonight.

This unfortunately makes our loss last night even tougher to swallow. But in the long run I still would like Illinois to win as many times as possible which will make our win against them even more attractive to our postseason chances.

    I agree for different reasons.

It doesn't matter after WCU. That win is ancient history.

Only one win matters now for BU: championship of the MVC tourney. All else is academic.

Last night made things a lot more difficult, but we could still get an at-large bid. I'd probably take winning the rest of our non-con games including beating a decent bracketbuster opponent and going at least 13-5 or 14-4 in conference play, but it's still conceivable.

We hurt ourselves with that loss but I honestly don't think that we are out of an At-Large bid if we can sweep up the rest of the non-con's and then have a very good record in conference. We need the Illini to keep winning because the better they look at the end of the season, the better we look at the end of the season. So as painful as it is to say it, congrats on the win Illini and keep them coming.
