  • Star BU athlete from the 1930s passes

Here is an name almost nobody will know- Robert Annasenz.
He was born and raised in Morton, Illinois. He was a star athlete at Bradley in the early 1930s. He was a star on the football team and on the track team and is in the BU Hall of Fame. He went on to coach track and cross country for much of his life in Ohio. He has lived in a retirement home in Ohio for the past several years, and just died at the age of 100.

I never knew Bob Annasenz, but I have had the priviledge of knowing his 2 brothers, both of whom lived their entire lives in Morton, Illinois (right outside Peoria). Both of them lived well into their 90's and remained active and travelled right up until they passed. It's a great family, and I got to hear a lot from the brothers about Bob's days at Bradley (a little before my time). It's a great family and they still have many relatives locally.
