Coach Les: Nah. I think my system is fine.

Hey Coach Les, don't you think we should get the ball down to the post more?

And lets say it was that simple.....IF that was the case (or a similar scenario) then its up to Merf to adjust seeings how it is jl's team.

Make the best of it...teach what you can within the system and, at years end, if you can't do it anymore...leave.

Exactly, if there's ever been a time to keep quiet and do the best thing for your family, keeping your job in this economy, now is the time

      • I agree with Chico...too much drama. People leave, get fired, change jobs EVERY day in America. So what.....so you find out why...again, so what. Wht are you going to do with that info?

Its like the Tiger Woods story...that stuff goes on EVERY day. MEH.

Lets beat WC with the coaches we have.

        Let Merf RIP.

        GO BU.......

          • I am not worried as much about this game as I am about the 2nd time through the MVC this year. Conference season is where you really lean on your assistants to try and find anything an opponent is doing that you can capitalize on that you may not already know about. We now have one less set of very experienced eyes helping us do that.

I think tonight we'll be sluggish early on (as usual), and turn it on at the end of the 1st half and beginning of the 2nd half (as usual). Then we'll find a way to make it close...but we'll win.

True but IF that set of eyes wasn't on the same page they weren't doing us any good. I said it earlier in this thread and was "pleased" it was confirmed by Reynolds in todays article.

Merf was "distant" and seemed somewhat uninvolved during the game. He was often relegated or relagated himself to talking with officials....the scorers table or simply drifting outside of the huddle.

Not to sound like a old fuddy duddy but I recall the days of a coach and MAYBE one assistant...my goodness now the bench looks like the board of directors at Citicorp.

I agree - If his presence or actions were counterproductive to BU winning, then he needed to go. I think ultimately I am disappointed that we couldn't make it work, at least for the duration of this season.

Not sure if it was counter productive or simply not helping since they wern't (assuming) on the same page.

I agree with you and still say, if I was Merf, I make the best of it until the season ends. Oh well.....its not fair to say though since I wasn't there. I understand if there was friction sometimes you gotta go.

Personally I think we will be fine. Lose this game though and I wonder what the comments will be.

Don't know if I would have said that, Dog.

I remember when Carver Arena was one of the toughest places to play in the league. I think we're approaching the most number of losses in any 5 year period at Carver. Way to reward the home fans who couldn't fly out to Vegas for coming to welcome you home.
