    • Another thing: listening to Snell interview Les after the loss tonight, I wondered why he didn't bring up the loss of the assistant coach and how that might have affected players.

You are so right!!! How many games have we lost at home in the last 5 years. At least Coach Mo could win at home. (Although he never found a way to win on the road).

I do too BB . Losing at home to a team like WCU is UNACCEPTABLE! Sadly, there have been too many losses the past few years to teams like this -- good teams but teams that you MUST beat AT HOME!

Holding home court is imperative to winning the MVC.

I'm sure his name got his foot in the door, but I believe he was brought in as really nothing more than a gopher. He worked his way up at BU on his own, and that should be commended. You don't get to become an associate head coach at a place like Bradley if you don't know what you are doing, IMO.

I have no doubt EB has put in a lot of time and effort into the program. No doubt. I just don't think his position relative to Steve Merfeld's, who had been a head coach of 2 NCAA Tournament teams, and a head coach in the league, was correct. I'm sure it runs deeper than just that though. I'm out of energy on this one. Just another day on the Hilltop.

                • This falls under the catagory of plausible, definitely not confirmed, from a BU patron at the WC game who didn't seem like one to make things up.

Seems Coach Merf apparently openly disagreed/challenged JL's approach during practices one too many times, the most recent time resuling in too many straws being placed on the camel's back.

Too bad. Coach Merf looked so happy in Vegas after the BU win over Illinois, talking with what looked like his family or close friends in the stands during the OSU-Utah game.

You know sometimes it's easy to take criticism from friends (CB) & family, but when it's someone outside that inner circle it can grate on you. I agree in Mythbusters fashion, I'd say this one is "plausible" too.

                    • Same Old

Same old song and dance. Do your homework and really find out what Steve Merfeld is all about.

He should consider himself a lucky man considering what his 20 seconds of fame with Hampton's win over Iowa State on national tv did for him in the way of opportunity within the profession. Merfeld should be very thankful to Jim Les for giving him an opportunity after he was pushed out of Evansville.
Finding another profession would be a wise decision. He would make a great high school principal.

                      Congratulations, Jim! Go Braves!

                      LOYALTY

If you work for a man, in heaven's name work for him, speak well of him and stand by the institution he represents....Remember an ounce of loyalty is worth a pound of cleverness...

If you must grovel, condemn and eternally find fault, why - resign your position and when you are on the outside, **** to your heart's content...but as long as you are part of the institution do not condemn it... if you do, the first high wind that comes along will blow you away and probably you will never know why.
